IRS 8" diff == SRA "V6", right?

Recommended Posts

hi guise

the toyota 8" IRS in the IS300 / BRZ center section is compatible with the center sections sold for "V6 and turbo 4cyl" trucks, right? I want to order a truck spool and have the tool grinder at work make me a carbide keycutter to machine the IRS c-clip grooves into it so I can run a spool instead of a welded diff

paging gordo

thanks <333

Why? Its the same shit. Also. You just cut the ends off the stub axles and rock out.

Sledge hammer ?

You must be from somewhere like, say Alabama ?

I use a slide hammer, one little pop, and the side shafts are in your hands.

I understand cutting the little extension tips off the IS for the thicker core of the MkIII.

Shouldn't be a problem on a spool, as it probably has a through hole anyway, and nothing for the stubs to hit (if you are using IS side flanges).

I think i did that like 4 years ago. I probably borrowed the sledgehammer. Pretty sure i only owned claw hammers back then.

30 spline, from V6 should be correct.

I know the gear sets are the same.
