Lofty 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2014 Hey guys. I need some ideas or mostly just pictures of how you guys did your bash bars. What pipe benders did you use? MIG or TIG? I just am looking to brainstorm some ideas. I've pretty much only seen Keith's and Jordan Lynchs. I'm gonna get going on this now that I have my body kit coming in. Post lots of pics. Okay thanks. tuner4life 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2014 I noticed that with my mx83, there really are no jack points besides the diff in the rear, and the subframe in the front.. I really want to weld jack points when I get my cage done.

jackc 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2014 I'll be doing bash bars for sure. Especially after seeing what was saved on Jordan's car after the wall at Final Bout (SR miata). That car would have had CR01 up in the manifold had it not been for his bash bars.
Lofty 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2014 Im pissed I missed final bout. Im coming to say hi Jack next year.
Lofty 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2014 Someone wanna run me thru a crash course on using that harbor freight bender? I guess my only question is in conjunction with the rollers, the higher and farther apart they are the wider the bend?
swim 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2014 the harbor freight piping bender AKA tubing crusher
swim 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 because pipe and tubing are different things the dies for that bender are in nominal pipe sizes so they're not the right size for roll cage tubing.maybe you can find dies that will work in that bender, or modify it? Lofty 0 Report post Posted September 9, 2014 Went down a half step in dies. Seems to work good. This shit is hard to get the angles right. But I am very close.

Lofty 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2014 It's getting there.I'm going to gusset and or dimple the corners where it has a slight crease. Obviously the ends still need to be trimmed.Idk, hate away. I just hate the "if you don't know how take it to someone else" mentality where people don't even build their own cars.More updates tomorrow.
