Kind of a ABS gay orgy in the whole engine bay, taking all that shit out... That's for now just stripping stuff out of the engine bay then gonna do a test fit of the 1jz this weekend probably and see what I'm dealing with.

Are you going to replace all that ABS shit with a normal brake booster & master?

I've heard ATI super dampers are better than fluidamprs because the fluid stops working at a certain rpm

yeah you also thought that there was an issue with an x100 auto ecu stalling cars, which is horse shit. The ati is good stuff though, ive installed it on many street cars and full out race cars. It's kinda gay you have to use a different belt though.

About time gameface, but I understand after seeing the first picture. I couldn't imagine having to live in coveralls.

I will probably be doing a ati whenever buying a $500 pulley is convenient.

I'm still trying to make up my mind for pedals and was favoring a floor mount box. There is a huge fuse/junction box and some control modules where a clutch pedal would normally go. It would take some work to relocate that if I was going to do a firewall mounted deal. Floor mount might work good for me because I want to move the seating position back a ways for more knee room.

I was driving the lexus for most of the winter while I was looking to buy another car and ended up buying a 02 protege5 with a lot of rust and low kms for 800. Was waiting on parts for probably a month. Then the lexus' timing belt snapped, so had to put temp tags on the mazda for a month and drive it to work so that left me with only a few weekends to cut out and replace both 1/4 panels and repair the rusted out wheel wells and trunk bottoms.

you can see some of the holes i had to fix in the wheel well but there was another one that was about 6x6".

I'd have to recommend NEVER BUY A FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT MAZDA, apparently they did a terrible job with recycled metal and never reached a appropriate temp to purify the metal so we end up with this shit

Test fitting with jzx100 mounts

Pretty close but get stopped by the coolant pipe that wraps around the back of the motor and the firewall even after a bit of hammering.

B5BC8D5F-84FD-43AA-BB5C-E596AAA0122E_zps lots of room for fun and activities in front of the engine

I think what I'm going to do is recess the firewall, the other option would be using sc300 mount brackets which are offset about an inch to one side. I would be happy setting it back though, little better handling, shifter farther back etc. I never liked the firewall anyway.

So yea maybe took a little bit much out of the firewall because I was planning on setting the motor back farther than I ended up resting my decision on but I never liked it anyway, The trans tunnel definitely wouldn't work with a r154 though even with the space for the bell all cut out I still have to cut a few holes on the pass side for the middle of the trans.

Also when I was test fitting the engine I took off the oil pan because I figured I might need a rear sump setting it back.. but this is what I found.

Better now than later I guess but I'll be taking apart the bottom end to see what the damage is, ran good when I pulled it out but I did beat the shit out of this engine. Kind of thinking maybe thrust bearing material... but its definitely bearing material.

So plan is now to get the engine and trans mounted, gonna be making my own mounts, start on the firewall. Then take apart the bottom end to see whats happening.

Wow thought I at least updated about the motor. Anyway with the 1jz it just seems like the rear main starved of oil. Probably have to get the crank ground, can't believe it wasn't knocking, oh well.

In other sad news, I'm gonna have to get rid of the lexus, just not enough room to have it sitting at the apartment I live at for as long as I need it to. I mean I considered lots of stuff, like renting a storage unit to work on it and keep it in etc or just fuck it and max out my cards and get it done. But I gotta save my money this year. I'm planning on going to university for mechanical engineering, I'm just upgrading courses and saving money so I can do it. I'll be keeping the 1jz and probably trying to find a cressida wagon at some point to put it in because I'm going threw some serious jz withdrawl symptoms. I finished the firewall on the lexus but theres no way I'll be able to afford what I wanted to do to it now, but I can still aford a cressida since I retained most of the parts I need to put my jz into one. Getting rid of the lexus is pretty painful and been fighting with the idea for months but its gotta happen.
