In the mean time i bought a 2jzgte jzx90 as a daily

Which is now broken and being reshelled into an mx83 to be the new daily/ drifter. This 2j will most likely remain stock. Have some Panasport G7s to go on it when its done.

Like all builds this one is slow going.

Entered an interstate event thats in October so the x83 has to be ready by then. The x81 is just gathering dust while I decide who is going to do the loom and where I can get a windscreen for it from.

For the X83, fuel pump just needs to be wired, then the tune can happen (ended up going single turbo) and the XM suspension parts to arrive.

Photo dump:

before it was decided that a single turbo was needed.

jzx81 with 18" regas on, decided to go 17s as I dont want a huge kit to pull off the 18s.. side on it looked like a 4x4 (sorry for shit instagram quality)

now with 17" regas and a flat tyre

a brighter picture of the engine bay

and the 90 before it was crashed and the daily/tow gs300.. which has a 2jzgte and t51r waiting to go in (the one pictured next to the x81 in the first post). I think I'm just going to take it to a workshop. Over building cars myself... mainly because it takes me 5 years.

The 90 has probably been my favorite running car I've had. The car was on belts on a narrow road, one side was a sheer drop off a cliff and I hit a wet patch. I wasnt driving stupidly at the time, but the reason for being on belts was doing stupid stuff and not taking a spare pair of wheels with me. Lucky I made it out without a scratch and learnt my lesson.

Another one of the gs, im in the process of getting the bbs centers painted metallic silver.. im not a fan of the gold on silver.

Awesome cars. I'm jealous of your wheels.

Whatever happened to the G7s?

Cheers for the positive feedback.

The cressida didn't make the event I entered because the auto elec that was doing the wiring couldn't get the car to start. I've decided to get rid of everything he has done because I have no idea what he has cut to get it where it is. So i'm ordering a new loom and starting over.

Now the thing is this 2jz has come out of my jzx90, so it has a 1jz loom, 1jz ecu and I bought the Greedy ultimate/ patch loom thinking it would run with all the 1jz stuff. Because I'm being a tight arse and

want to order a loom for the X81. I want to buy another 1jz loom and avoid having to get 2jz ecu and 2jz patch loom for the e-manage.

Everywhere I look it says this is plug and play. The only thing I need to change would be water temp sensor and oil pressure switch. Looking at the loom in the car, it looks like whoever did the original conversion in the jzx90 has played around with the injector wiring from the ecu. Can anyone shed light if you need to modify injector wiring at all? I'm going to look for more info, but figured I'll ask here too.

This is how the cressida stands right now, I'm not really happy with how it looks and want to tidy up the bay, but, I need to get it running before I throw money at it.

How easily did the centers come out of the LM?

On all the Volk & Decem-10 that I have split, they required a little heat on the outer parts to pop the centers out, and to re-insert.

really easily, once unbolted i just had to flip them over and stomp on them once to pop the centers out.

Won these visors for the cressida on yj- hoping they won't get cracked on the way here.

Getting really stuck into these cars over the next few weeks. I'm hoping the wiring gremlins will be sorted in the cressida and then i can focus on getting it looking half decent.

Bought the street car for Japan in April/May. Going to be driving from Tokyo up to Ebisu and then head south to Osaka via Yokohama/Nagoya/Tsukuba/Fuji to name a few. Can't wait.

Cressida is making real progress, it is running and driving now. Just going over everything on this car to make sure its 100% then tune and paint for the front end. Decided on the weekend to go mk2 front. Getting the quarter panels cut and welded with cress ones so it lines up with the doors.
