I call the ones attached to actual fiberglass bodywork 'steal my body parts' fasteners.

The ones that people put on stock bodywork are 'calling all stray faggots' fasteners.

Besides being overly fucking expensive, I want to see how well those on the bottom work after a few weeks of road crap works it's way into them.

 

Why not dzus fasteners ?

Used on race cars around the world.

Dirt cheap.

Proven product.

Won't lock up with even the most severe road dirt.

And many different head styles.

dzus are great because if you do break one theyre fast and cheap to replace. you can use a dzus tool or if you dont have one handy a flathead, bottle opener, quarter, whatever.

They also come with wings (like a wing nut), and with a hex hole for using with an allen wrench.

Places like Speedway Motors have the heads in steel, plated steel, aluminum, and plastic.

Ready made mounting plates, and fiberglass top reinforcing plates also standard items.

 

They are so cheap, that you can buy a few extra to practice installing on some scrap, so you don't fuck up your good stuff.

I don't think road grime and dirt would get in there with them fastened though? They seem pretty well sealed inside where the ball is. Yes I wouldn't use them on the bottom like thay, but on the sides of the rear and front bumpers I think they would be very cool.

Well this is my leading wheel angle, it seems way excessive (lol pun) I feel like it's over centering. this is with arms pulled all the way in so stock x8 arm length I believe? And full camber pulled in up top. With zero Ackerman knuckles (I think). I'm going to need longer inner tie rods because mine were cut for extensions in the past. I've read ae92 Inners are same pitch and are longer then oem.

I havethequick latch on my car. Work awesome. Dzus blow. The retaining clips bend, they never want to lign up right, and i havent seen any on real deal pro level race cars outside of nascar in years. Almost everybody has switched to a different form

Ae92 inners are the same but longer than X8 inners. Awesome angle you've got there though! Probably will be a bit less than that once the car is on the ground and the tire hits the wheel well.

Austin you have the minis or the hood latches to? I want the hood latches but there so effing expensive. Also Kyle Iv relocated the passenger still have to do driver. Yes fender well clearance is an issue for sure, once I get the car driving its goin to my fabricating buddies place to get some cool ideas Iv had floating around, also fender well clearance will be addressed.

In other news I traded my sc for this 98 gs300 145k, Godspeed coils 19 tsw wheels. Super clean grey interior ect totally came out on top on this real we straight traded too. I was only into the sc 3300 bucks. Also found a bargen basket find last night work xsc o2c 18x10 +15 pair for 400 fucking dollars

Hes a blue heeler/Aussie so he's got fucker In his blood but super smart. And yea super stoked to get in a chassis I actually like the sc was like a filler car to me to hold me over til I could get my hands on something I really want. Never heard of that widebody? Yea I was in shock about the wheels, local too which is crazy for Colorado. The kid Needed rent money so i was able to talk him down to 400 from 600. Funny thing is I pronabbly would have bought them anyways.

Word okay now I know the kit, that kit is fucking hard but I'm sure so much money. Yea s9 or the 4door Heros kit would be my choices if I go that route. Previous owner completely shaved rear fenders flat so rolling will be tough, may just do wide wheels and mad cambe under stock body for The time being. Until I want to do overs. I do want to boost it though.

Yea definitely want the trunk regardless! And then s9 arms front and rear and some big wheels and il be set for a while. I have a hankering to build one of these to drift but that would be down the road.
