Macintosh Classic 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2018 ^people with lack of direct from stacking bad decisions and/or poor life balance call their self indulgent coping mechanisms, hobbies. I have zero intentions of getting wrapped up in cars as a negative to my life as a whole. Getting a new car is an even shittier money pit, if you haven't figured it out yet. And yeah, LSX and 2J life are expensive and unnecessary. No one here is making more than 450whp. If you just love those motors and nothing else, cool. But honestly, they have too much tax associated with them. There's nothing clever left to do with them. They're a fixed game. Everything is off the shelf. And off the shelf prices are always high. There is benefit to tried and true, but it is very much a double edge sword. I'd personally rather end up like Gordon and the 7M, making it better than stock, but I wont hold to 1 motor series for 30 yrs. I'll switch whatever is best. Demesio 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2018 Poor life choices is why this place exists, so please take your whiny ass somewhere else. I havent had to cope with my terrible life in a while because both cressidas have been running for a good while. I usually drive which ever car has gas. Also, I only clean the air filter and the interior.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2018 Here's something you guys don't see everyday.. This car has proven to be my favorite by far.. probably because i feel old as fuck, but i'll be damned if new tires and shocks make this this a beautiful cruiser. I'm averaging 27mpgs (maybe 20 if im flooring it all the time) The auto trans is doing fine with a giant trans cooler, I've got a oil filter relocation kit going in next time around because that is the only downfall of this thing. If only i could get what i have in my white cressida, i'd sell it in a minute and keep this red one.
Macintosh Classic 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2018 When the time is right, im hoping to make a trip out to the west for a couple cars. Itd be nice to buy something from a skilled member. Im not even gonna hope that hard for it.

Demesio 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2018 why would i share it on here? you can barely see the intercooler if you look hard enough 1JZGTE VVT-i from JZS171, it's auto and has A/C... Only shitty part of the car is that the asshole before me hacked the back deck lid to fit 6X9's proper resto-mod once i find a company to make poly diff bushings so the subframe doesnt crack.
Gordo 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2018 Just better diff bushings won't stop that, the sub frame is just weak.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2018 well anything that keeps the diff from flopping around will make it last longer.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2019 White car still being white car... I'll be getting rid of the cable speedometer and going digital to stop the trans from leaking and get the two step working on the Infinity... And then I got this thing two weeks ago, I like it.. i'll like it more when i put a 2j in it..
battleaxe 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 Tell me more about a digital speedo to get rid of the cable oh blessed one
Gordo 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 Plug the electric sender into the into the trans, instead of the cable drive ? Just a guess on my part... Then there is that cable driven pulse generator that Toyota made, that I have sitting in one of the many boxes of odd-ball stuff I've stashed away over 25 years, that I will probably never use. And seen an inline pulse generator, but haven't called them yet to see if it's available with metric threads.
WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 Thank you for plans to pull the ear screamer and replace with with the ear pleaser

Didn't know there was a digital version for the R box. We know I'm dumb here. Dunno why thread sealant wouldn't seal the threads unless it was stripped in some regard it dirt on the threads. I need the cable on the trans to connect to my cluster great section
Demesio 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 this is it I always liked keeping track of my mileage but california doesnt give a fuck about old cars, i was trying to log the odometer on this 2007 G35 and the fuckers left it out because it's irrelevant... so fuck it. the digital sender will go to the ecu and feed it to the AEMnet gauge... i'm so tempted to buy the CD5 I sold my corolla and used half of that to buy the new ride... pretty comfy deal it was a bit of a shit show because i bought the swap 4 years ago and finally drove it only to find that 3rd gear was shit, so i bought a whole other beams swap and changed out the trans.. good as new and ready for the new owner
WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 Didn't it come on some tripod r154s? I swear @vampirebeats swap came with electric sender, I'd be more curious about the cluster side
Demesio 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 I have a jzx100 soarer trans, i retrofitted the mk3 shifter to fit my car... its not the prettiest deal but it works.. THE CLUSTER WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE CABLE, the AEM gauge will show my speed... again, unless i buy the cluster
WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 Ah ya, the more I see the AEM cluster the more I like it, but I'm too gay for the x7 digi cluster. Maybe hit up @vampirebeats I think he did the same thing you did, I remember him having to whip up a little bracket to hold the mechanical mk3 speed sensor but i don't think his was leaking
Gordo 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2019 The speedo cables don't seal where they screw on, but inside the housing that holds the gear & shaft, it has a little shaft seal, and on the OD where the O-ring is.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2019 the car has been this way for 4 years, it recently decided to drip like a single drop a week (from the o-ring in the cable)... I'm just doing the swap for the ecu to have a speed signal and two step to break more shit. it was just a statement, there's no rocket science behind it. @WhoreMouth_Jr both gears are interchangeable and are held the same way, what bracket would you be talking about
WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2019 IIRC the sensors housings themselves where sligthly different. He also had the fancy syncro one which he converted from electric to mechanical output. Looking back it looks like he bought a new one or something though: he's not using that trans anymore though so maybe he would sell the sensor unless you set on going electronic
Demesio 0 Report post Posted July 2, 2019 I sold my red cressida to some russian guy who pays me to work on it now, pretty sweet deal. I finally got around to upgrade the fuel system in the white cressida, 400whp got boring and i said fuck it. I was hoarding all these parts for about a year now and finally getting close to finishing it.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2019 Had the car tuned with the new fuel system, didn't eve use the second pump in the surge tank. Only made it to 24 psi because the intercooler is too small and the IAT's just rise with the rpms. I'm not sure if i want to fix that and make more power or just leave it as is. This thing is ridiculous, I dont even know what to do with it anymore. Turned out pretty well, next step is to finish the A/C and maybe drive it sometimes. Demesio 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2022 Sold this turd almost two years ago after almost crashing it. Been building a 2007 M35 for a while, recently got it running. It should be running like OEM if I can get some sort of canbus system to communicate with the AEM Infinity. Full interior, AC, Adaptive headlights, and AC cooled seats. The goal is about 400whp, nothing crazy just a good challenge to build. I had a 2020 Civic Si Sedan I had sold for almost what I paid for it thanks to this crazy car market and got this sweet ass E55. It makes tons of power, 4 doors, sunroof, and big ass brakes!
