Another update, car has finally been kicking ass. I ride the metro to work now so the car is for weekend fun. The car is putting down 340hp/330tq @18psi.. its around 15MPGS, but Im always on boost :)

My wastegate is sucking right now, gonna be picking up a tial next weekend. My driveshaft vibrates like hell at 45-80mph, once i hit 90+ it rides like butter, no idea wtf that is but ill be dealing with it next.

Next step is gonna be E85, but that will be wayy later on. For now im just enjoying this turbo turd :)

Thing leaves some nice black marks.

Might look at getting a better intake setup next rather than running E85.

The way your pipe comes over the turbo is freaking me out, even with the blanket I bet you are heating the air pretty badly and losing power.

Also, what are you using to tune this thing? I would expect more on 18lbs of boost. I was making 330/330 on my 1.5j with SAFC and an HX35 running 10lbs. Granted it was a higher compression motor but still.

Yeah, i kinda do wanna do the ffim but i don't want any more downtime on the stupid car haha

I'll be getting to all these things eventually :)

I'm running an AEM V2, and the tune needs a little work. Even still, the 340 is a hand full.

New update: I took the car out to a local track that does drifting events on thursday nights out here. I did pretty shitty, but granted it was my first time on the track.
my very first lap i went off course and almost hit a pile of dirt. Later on in the night I hit a wall of tires with the side of my car pretty well. I'm currently going to make some hydro ebrake stuff for it and just keep beating the crap out of it.

It really is worth all the headaches it has given me

Hittin tires:

Here's a little clip of me dumping third gear ^_^

and an Independence Day burnout :)

Damn, I haven't updated this in a long time...

well long story short, I killed 2 W58's, then noticed the holset took a shit, Shit tuner at Road Race Engineering... so while it was down, i went r154 and got a Comp Turbo 6265.. then took it to the track and Spun a bearing.. Shit tuner a Road Race Engineering

I swapped a 1j in my brother's car in exchange for the work, he gave me my engine back... then drove it like crap for a few months..

Now it's down again and been waiting on some sweet upgrades with a very proper tune. Should be pretty sweet in the next month or so..

Here's a sweet burnout i forgot to post

How did you figure a spun bearing was because of the tune?

Are you fueling your oil?!

WhoreMouth, I'll be on that tomorrow... I gotta add those things you forgot to mention :P

The timing map was shit.. after hounding the guy to check my shit over and hearing him say everything is okay, i started to do my homework... Jose at Kaizen looked over my tuner after blowing the shit up to see there was way more potential than just 350 hp, and my knock sensors werent set properly... there was light detonation on my pistons where it was starting to mess up the coating

I'll be having my new setup tuned by Beau Brown from AEM this time around..

Can you post a picture of the dyno graph? I am curious to see what it looks like.

Oh yea, I am running the aem infinity 6 tuned by Beau Brown, one of the AEM Engineers.. and these numbers have a lot to do with using bosch knock sensor which are way better than the stock crap. It was also tuned it with 6 month old gas...

Got a part number on the Bosch knocks? I might do the same this winter when I go infinity.

Not a bad hp curve. I'm surprised at the tq drop off at 5k. Due to the lower compression perhaps?

Unless he cut his compression by a ton its probably running around where the gte would, which peaks around that range with the same bpu mods.

this is a bone stock GE engine i built about 4 years ago.. drove it stock for 1 year then used gte electronics on it, then sold it to my brother as a stock setup, and i got it back again this February... I've got a bit to do still, to fix all the half assed shit i didnt know how to do before.

The tuner said i should be seeing above 500 on E85.

these bad boys make the difference

Bosch 0261231006 Knock Sensor

I've got my old block .020 over still, with the pistons and rods, needs a crank..

a complete vtec 1j, thinkin of 1.5j

and a 2jzge vtec head.. with BC springs and retainers.. i have no idea what to make of all the spare stuff now that the car is stupid fast...

Im also building a 84, ae86, with a beams motor.. got everything i need, but the motivation.. since i've got a running car now..

kinda funny huh..
