Im a strong little boy

Recommended Posts

So Im Nick and this is my x7 build. I picked up my chassis on cut springs from some kid for $400 in mint condition inside and out. Currently Im waiting for my 1jzgte vvti to show up from JDM Engines Corp. Its coming with the manual harness, igniter, powersteering pump, and alternator. And hopefully an ECU but I am not sure since the site does not explicitly confirm.

My plans for now:

1jzgte vvti

stock ct26

DM Intercooler

Mishimoto Radiator

XM Motor mounts

R 154 (mine could have came with one but I opted out cuz it saved me a G at the time)

Plan on running the cut springs through the year but eventually swapping over the x8 front suspension and s9 5 lug kit. and rocking some BC coilovers.

Since I am working all the time my build will be slightly slow... Ill show you why =)

Wish I had green interior. But its blue instead.

I picked up the 1j last night.

The plug coming from the alternator was cut so I'm thinking hardwire or millspec or something. Its from a jzx100 chaser, I googled the ecu part number to find out. It looks to be in good shape.

I also order the XM motor mounts and they should be here Monday morning.

Some small plug in a thin loom was broken and just has the wires and pins. I was wondering what it was.

My plan is to tow the car over to the shop tonight or tomorrow and beat on the tunnel and get ready to drop in the 1j Monday after work.

Ill post a bunch of pictures sometime tonight.

Is the throttle body computer also the controller for traction control?

I think I need the jz body plugs to wire into as well since none came with. They also ripped off the starter and the fucking igniter and broke the return line fitting for the powersteering reservoir.

Yup.

Bringing it home. Couldn't wait for it to be dropped off.

Im guessing these are my 5m body plugs seems like one to many. Any of you guys got and/or want to sell an igniter, starter, and some chaser ecu body plugs?

The plug coming out of the alternator is cut as well... does she wire straight to the fusebox?

I have an igniter and maf I'll sell you. Also, wtf do you need chaser body plugs for if you're not putting it in a chaser? use the x7 body plugs, route the 1 wire temp sensor, oil pressure signal, and tach signal from the engine and pin "W" from the ecu to the x7 body plugs and profit. Easy peezy. Get a factory electrical wiring diagram from your car and call it a day. geesh.

I ordered an '86 repair manual yesterday. I'm pretty sure I can scavenge the igniter and maf off of an Sc300 or a gs or something. Not sure about maf though. If I can steal one from a yard ill hit you up. The only "notching I did thus far to put the motor mounts was drilling out the top left hole on the passenger side because one of the bolt holes is offset. Maybe I'm supposed to notch the insulator? I dunno yet cause I haven't gotten the car and the engine in the same room yet.

Yea there is like 7 ish wires to hook up on the one body plug, idk if you have to change the harness for wiring into the fuse box for ign, inj, etc power and ecu power/sensor power and i think mrel - my harness was all cut up so I basically wired it up however not sure if x100 fusebox is in the same place. I never used anything from the white body plug. If you don't want to cut up your 5m harness I used the body plug from a mk3 supra. Your 5m starter will work on the jz. Alternator wiring is basically the same just diffirent colors, you'll see when you look at the 5m diagram and the jz diagram, they use the same abbreviations, and the alternator is in the same place.

You can throw that thing right into the garbage. Don't need it...unless you plan in converting to a 4 channel ABS system.

Lol easily done dude. Happy 420 everybody. Time to partyyyy. Did any of you guys do some plug deletes off of your harness? Im kind of thinking about it. Especially since I want to try and go with a Mil Spec into the firewall. Eh whatever.

I got my x7 without the blasphemy of an M motor and related transmission. So needless to say no starter either. I was wondering if there is a better starter like off of a 2j or something. Im gonna check it out.
