Guest Radial Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Been searching the web for decades in the search for a stock 1JZ timing map, so I can adopt it to my MS3.I found the Timing map on JimmyHoffa's 1,5JZ thread (Thanks for that thread Jimmy, excellent stuff), and have implanted it to my MS3... but as his engine is a N/A bottom end 1,5JZ with higher compression than mine...and it might not suit my engine that well.I will only boost maximum 240 kpa.I hoped to find some STOCK timing maps really....I feel that would work out best for a start. The car was working excellent with the stock ECU timing and the S251.If anyone has a Fuel map for 1JZwith 440's i'd appriciate that as well.... but it's the timing map i'm struggling with really.thx in advance
Guest 403is300 Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Maybe throw BIPPU a message, he might have something basic he could throw away for charity
bippu 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2013 Lol not for free. I can sell you a good starting map, sloped for a single turbo setup your size.
Guest gameface Report post Posted January 9, 2013 I also want the stock 1jz timing map for something to start with... thought about using some sort of data logger but probably not worth the investment considering we have the internet to get peoples ign maps even from other standalones. As for taking fuel maps from someone on ms...it is guaranteed that they will not be right unless you do exactly all of the same settings, even then. There's a lot of theory out there for developing ignition maps especially on ms related sources. Once you have a wide band developing a rough fuel map is possible, pretty easily if you are safe about it... REGISTER FOR VE ANALYZE LIVE!!! IT IS FANTASTIC FOR ADJUSTING THE FUEL MAP TO YOUR AFR TARGET MAP. stay out of high load until you have the low load area's in the rough zone then you can make estimates for the rest of the fuel map. There is even math for developing map. Anyway after a bit of searching http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php?topic=23227.15 a bit down the page there is a ign base map from a power fc... it doesn't have the load values but you should be able to figure it out... higher load - timing starts dropping.... its not a very aggressive map but its a start and you do want to start safe. Actually its not that great but what ever. I also came up with multiple timing maps in my searching so use google.
bippu 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2013 ^ thats a pretty basic map. good to start with, should work for you OP.
Guest Radial Report post Posted January 9, 2013 The fuel table is no big problem, really.. I have resized a 400kpa's 550cc map to 250kpa, and reduced everything by 20% to "suit" my 440's as a basemap, and I have registered Tunerstudio MS, so I have VE analyser ready to use once this shit is running. But if you start with a decent timing-map, you wont have to re-tune the VE-table that mutch every time you need to change something on the timing.... I guess i'll try to dig into the PFC hex-code to decode that stock table, just funny none seems to have done it yet, lol.Or what do guys you think of this timing-table? Found it on the MS-forum, Just needs to be resized for lower boost of course.
Guest Radial Report post Posted January 9, 2013 By the way Bippu, how much is it for a decent map to my setup? Just to keep it in mind if i give up doing all of the tables myself.
Guest gameface Report post Posted January 9, 2013 That looks like a feasible map... couple of weird spots were the timing is dropped out but maybe he got a bit of knock and dropped it or something. Try it out and tailor it to your motor and maybe get bippu to help you out even if it costs you money it will probably be worth it, he does it for a living. You'll love VE analyze. Makes life easy. JimmyHoffa 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2013 Unless you want to spend a crap-ton of time DIY tuning your spark, just buy Jimmy's map. It's worth pretty much whatever he wants to ask for it. It made a night and day difference in my car as is and I haven't gotten it on the dyno to dial it in the rest of the way. For fuel tuning the live VE analysis works well for realtime as well as from logs.
