1jzgt vvti Running too rich.

Recommended Posts

Guest FD3S-VVti

I have some Insane richness problem on my 1jzgte vvti (hardly 2KMs per Liter). On Wideband (innovate) im getting readings from 7 to 9.5 readings. I have tried leaning it out through AFC NEO. Leaning it resulted in some weird Throttle response issues & too much lag has come in & the numbers on wideband are still almost the same. Car is flushing unburnt fuel up the exhaust.

Wideband is brand new & hardly been driven for 30 KMs.

Can anyone please help? .. What could it be?

Setup:

Holset HX35 (10 Psi)

Apexi AFC NEO

Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump

Stock Injectors

Stock Fuel Rail.

Ecu coolant temp sensor would be my first guess if it's not a problem with your injectors and the wrong maf would be guess no. 2 and lastly I would check that ecu pin E2 is not grounded or shorted to ground as it is a sensor ground supplied by the ecu . If you unplug the ecu and all the sensors that are wired to the E2 pin of the ecu there should be no continuity with chassis ground . Also E2 supplies ground to The throttle position, airflow, air and water temperature sensors which have a separate ground to ensure clear signals. Good luck with the Batmobile !

Is the check engine light working? Have you tried to check for codes? What have you done diagnostic wise?

And yeah, did the car run before the holset setup? Injectors stuck open could be a problem.

i have tried changing the MAF. Part Number is 22250-50060. But that dint do much either. I will check E2 pin & the groundings as u mentioned. Thanks bro.

@batmobile ... i get that alot :) may be cuz of the black wheels.

If you unplug the coolant temp sensor the car assumes full hot. It'll lean right the fuck out if that's the prob. Other than that just check all of your readings. The only real fuel modifiers are the 5v stuff and thermistors.

free air calibrate the innovate to ensure you're getting an accurate reading.

and it runs like ass because you have a shit management setup.

Yea make sure you take it out when you do a free air calibration too... i had a lc1 decide it would free air calibrate while my car was running. Also possible incorrect signal to your guage? 7.5:1 is error for innovate iirc. Anything richer than about 12:1 and you be pretty much pouring out back smoke.

Aside from that I'd check how your piggy back thing is hooked up, likely cause if its running rich
