open-element IAT sensor for 1JZ/2JZ

Bumping this.

Has anyone used the stock IAT and just welded a bung for it into the FMIC piping?

I have greddy emanage ultimate and I'm trying to figure out if i should go GM IAT or try to find a ???M16 x 1 . 5 ???? bung for the stock IAT?

An AIT is an AIT......

It's just a thermistor.

Back when HKS VPCs were a big seller, I was making my own using thermistors from an electronics house, and a machined phenolic/aluminum housing.

 

But just about any Toyota one should work.

And the HKS IAT has a very small M6 thread, and I think are just $60.

The one I have is too fuckin big. And I hear the GM IAT one reads differently. So not sure how an IAT is an IAT unless I misread.

It may.

But if dealing with a stand-alone, it doesn't matter, as that is all definable.

If dealing with an oem ecu, just have to check resistance at freezing (ice water), and boiling water.

Or as I suggested, just use any Toyota unit, as they are most likely the same range.

The old 7M flapper meters have one held in with a single screw, and quite compact.
