Guest swim Report post Posted April 24, 2012 spun a bearing in my WRX, needed another car. I was planning on R200 rear diff and 1jz swap in the WRX until I realised it'll never be the same as a car that started RWD, so I started looking for s14's, x8's, so on and so forth. found an x8 on craigslist for $1100, talked him down to around $600 then we found a crashed, blown headgasket GS300 and got the guy down to $800. I got the motor. winter happened. got a roof rack, threw some s14 wheels with winter tires on, didn't do much else to the car. then did springs: jimmy up seat, pioneer radio / speakers moved out, living in an apartment on main street of a little city now. all my money goes to rent haha finally got the fronts on
Guest swim Report post Posted April 24, 2012 power steering cooler, volvo lip nig beats explorer skirts that didn't last long got a real picture taken of my car got a mk3 for $600 didn't wast time fucking around, pulled the engine, got the trans, put the engine back in the back seat rear diff made my own front endlinks because I was driving around with the swaybar unhooked after I did springs did new rear brakes because they were factory original I think and it was kind of sketchy when they failed got a pair of britz that I need to have fixed only reservoir sock they had in stock britz fit pretty okay but then this happened so they're not on the car anymore
Guest swim Report post Posted April 24, 2012 s13 front end happened after I had been planning on it since I got the car
Guest swim Report post Posted April 24, 2012 plans should be relatively obvious at this point. I just told a junkyard to start pulling me a 1GS head, getting it for $200. Non-VVTi 2JZGE head, the rest of the front sump 2GS motor, my 7MGTE harness, ECU, injectors, etc. need a JZ bell. need a different shifter extender. using the turbo on the right got my ffim I've got a Q45 throttle kicking around for it somewhere. need an exhaust manifold still. Guest swim Report post Posted April 24, 2012 That's how it is in Michigan... everything rots. There's no rust anywhere structural on this x8, so it'll last me until I find a cleaner shell. The explorer skirts... pretty much all of the above. They actually fit surprisingly alright, would have been passable if they were body color and I had mounted them better, but they got ripped off a few times because they were ziptied on, and I finally had one fly off on the highway in a spectacular manner. Guest swim Report post Posted April 25, 2012 dropped the bent rim off to get refurbished, and picked up a non-vvti head today next paycheck buys me a thick headgasket.
Guest swim Report post Posted April 25, 2012 nah... the only reason they ripped off was because they hung DUMB fucking low... they sat like entirely below the rocker panel, and hung maybe two fingers off the ground. my suspension is soft, so you do the math. JimmyHoffa 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2012 Part of me loves things about this car, the other part hates it in its entirety. My two halves are currently beating each other with tire irons and neither is winning.

Mo 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2012 I still dont get why you fucks mount oil coolers in front of the bumper. They look ugly, they make cars look ugly, they are useless and they will leave you on the side of the road when debris punctures it.

JimmyHoffa 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2012 In JDM-land most of their bumper mounted coolers are 100% for show. The hoses are just tucked/zip tied inside the engine bay/to the bumper.
Guest Lofty Report post Posted April 26, 2012 Car matches mine in color and shittyness. Fuckyeah. The dopest way is to run just the lines outside of the bumper, and have the oil cooler hidden, like this shit.
Guest swim Report post Posted April 28, 2012 car sucks right now... I know. took some of the gayer stickers off, I don't think the lip is going back on either. I'm at an impasse over the power steering cooler... I'll probably wind up putting it somewhere inside the bumper. after I get some bills and shit paid off I'm going to spend a little bit getting the blitz 03's repaired, then put all my money into the swap. have to obtain a bellhousing, flywheel, mounts, do the headgasket, time it, and then I can start piecing together the EMS, big single, front facing intake manifold, and all the lines and plumbing. hopefully it'll start being less embarassing soon. Guest I<3BlondeGirls Report post Posted April 29, 2012 If you remove all of the gayness on your exterior and rock a full set of Blitz 03's on stock body your car will be cool beans.
Guest swim Report post Posted April 29, 2012 I need to find a pair of 17x9 +35 or similar 03's for sale then. I guess I'll start watching YAJ or something. The other pair that's local is 17x7 +45, and idk if I can use that in the front since I'm running 17x8 +10 right now.
Guest Lofty Report post Posted April 29, 2012 Those would look sick. I have MB Weapons on mine. Kinda fanboyish but the 17x9s fit perfectly.
Guest swim Report post Posted April 30, 2012 fucking livid right now. the STUPID DICKHEAD that welded the knuckles on my car did a shit fucking job. showing another cressida breh my angle in a FUCKING PARKING LOT, the steering arm SNAPPED OFF THE FUCKING KNUCKLE. this happened at a goddamn meet like 40 minutes from my apartment and 30 minutes from my parent's house, so I had to get a ride to my parents, get a pair of stock knuckles, swap them out in a coffee shop parking lot at midnight, and then it turned out that my longer inners wouldn't adjust far in enough for stock knuckles, so I drove home with like fucking 5 degrees of toe in at 10mph, just got here at 3am, and fucked a pair of tires doing it. it's sketchy as fuck when your front tires start chunking when you go faster than 15mph... and as an added bonus, I ripped the boot on a brand new Tein outer since I had to use my pickle fork to get the snapped off steering arm out of the tie rod end. good thing they only come in pairs for $100... fucking bullshit. I was planning on balling out on parts for the JZ swap, but I guess I'm going to buy GOOD roll center corrected knuckles this time, I'll probably need coilovers, and I guess I'll get a new pair of tires in a lower profile so I can go low and not rub in stupid places like I have been. manual swap and 7mgte oil pump while keeping the stock motor for now? fuck me. Guest swim Report post Posted April 30, 2012 it's got nothing to do with the cressida... it was a nissan part that failed because this stupid faggot welded them himself and then never told me they were sketchy. after he heard about it: yeah, that was a test set, they never should have been used on a street car. Then again no cut knuckles should ever be used on a steet car, thats why i dont make them for anyone to buy, because theres a 80% chance they will brake. I have 3 back up sets for the GTO for when mine brake. shaking my fucking head.
Kyle 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2012 Maybe your guy isn't familiar with welding cast? I hit a curb at 50+mph with the melon, wheel face parallel to curb. Did not crack my coilover sleeve welded to my sPindle. Find a new welder
