Guest bgjustin Report post Posted March 29, 2012 i was just wondering what mounts i should use and if i will have to get a differnt driveline made to make the swap work does any one know????
Stephen 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2012 use RB20 to S13 mounts. they fit. also, an automatic driveshaft from an LS400 works with both W58 and R154.
Guest DuaxMachine Report post Posted March 29, 2012 Duct tape works in place of any high dollar mounts, and stock driveshaft will fit, just move the differential 2" forward with the adjustments on it.

ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2012 go to a driveshaft shop and have them custom make you a transmission case so you don't have to worry about a bellhousing. or just chop the front of the automatic bellhousing off and weld it to the front of any 5-speed transmission. the driveshaft can be made from spare exhaust pipe if you have any lying around, just make sure you do the welding right and fill it with sand to act as a counterweight. for mounts, just put the motor in the bay and put a jack under the oil pan, and use it to hold the motor in place, then just find any good grade 8 bolt and drill a hole through the crossmember at the angle needed to thread it into the block. then get yourself some quick set epoxy and squirt it all over the bolt to act as an isolator. boom. done. mervins 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2012 I used the mounts of my old 22re pickup similar to the ones on the 4runner, as for the driveshaft i took it to a exhaust shop and had them weld from each u joint a piece of thickest piping he had. I should of ask befor doing it cause my has a slight vibration, should of put sand in their to act as my counterweight. Oh yeah this is weird but i used the clutch out of a dodge ram too, the one thats used in the cummings powered trucks.

shawley 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2012 Drive shafter from and old exhaust, I never would of thought!! I just use good old 2x4's!!! Hammer a couple together, cut to length with a nice hand saw, then toss on a lathe and hand carve it till it's perfect round, then just use some JB weld to attache some auto back strapping material to bolt to diff. Then I will hand carve the end and toss into the transmission and be good to go! Then I go eat Poutine!
ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2012 dude how fucking awesome would it be to turn a wooden driveshaft on a lathe and put some nice fucking accents on it like a table leg? just make sure you use oak or some other hardwood and stain the fuck out of it for longevity's sake. ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2012 You could also maybe make a turbo blanket out of rich corinthian leather and make sure you always carry a bottle of port in the glovebox. on it's side the cork will stay wet and the movement of the car would keep it from settling. Guest DuaxMachine Report post Posted March 30, 2012 Well, check your diff lube for poly worms then. I've seen it a few times, especially if you run left over pountine gravey. Here is a link to the problems using gravey lube: http://jzxproject.com/bbs/index.php?showtopic=7544&st=

Guest DuaxMachine Report post Posted March 30, 2012 bigtoe, are not hockey puck mounts just for people who eat pountine ? I though cajuns used dried oil globules found floating in the gulf. Just pick them up off the beach, wet them with hot souce cutting fluid so they can be drilled, and bolt the mothers on.
Mo 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2012 I ordered a brand new JDM wooden drive shaft and it had a crack. I was just wondering, is it ok to run it like that or should I reinforce it with electrical tape? HALP!! PLEEEEEZ!
