got some work done on the motor today...

pulled the stock twins off to replace the factory "y" pipe and down pipe is a better one... they were a bitch to take off!

291814_2012374436631_1461870012_31696149_1320062860_n.jpg

then finally got the new one bolted up and turbos installed on the motor again

293509_2012500519783_1461870012_31696249_1051498582_n.jpg

then i figured since i had all the stock pipin off the motor why not see what a lil wire wheel on a drill would on the dirty metal and see for yourself =)

310301_2012590322028_1461870012_31696418_945782260_n.jpg

and finally the exhaust side of the motor is done and ready to go, also installed a billet cnc block off plate for the stock bypass valve since im running a tial q bov

297631_2012821207800_1461870012_31696520_253756929_n.jpg

welp got off work a lil early today so got some more work done on the motor.... also realized that im not gonna make my finish date of the 16th... just not enough time and money and parts are still on the way.... but it WILL be done for simply clean 3.... anywho onto the pics

got the bottom end of the motor set at TDC, lined up the cams to their indexing marks and got the timing belt on... honestly on of the easiest motors ive ever timed

303206_2020332235571_1461870012_31703673_989766531_n.jpg

then threw the lower timing cover on, alternator, all new billet pulleys from Drift Motion and wow the motor looks so good now! weird enough the serpentine belt that fits a 1jz without a/c is from a 2000 audi a4 2.8l lol.... so i guess there is a lil euro in this build after all haha

junk yard run was a success!! found a mk3 supra so i took the clutch pedal and the shifter since mine was all sorts of fucked up... going back tomorrow for a longer throttle calbe.... also got my aero in today from Serialnine!!

302485_2030630413019_1461870012_31708602_1615404573_n.jpg

got some more shit done this weekend... picked up my wheels from Cape Customs, 2 candy teal and 2 candy raspberry =)

303293_2033057033683_1461870012_31710896_1772784282_n.jpg

then Kris got me side tracked and we wanted to see what the aero would look like mocked up

311959_2033058113710_1461870012_31710897_1547789826_n.jpg

then we got working on the pedal assemblies... since these cars never came 5 speed i had to get creative... i used a clutch master from a 1990 celica gts, a pedal assembly from a mk3 supra... had to drill out the holes in the clutch pedal so it would clock the pedal so the top hole would line up with an existing hole in the car

then for the gas pedal i needed a throttle cable from a mk4 supra... so where the fuck would i find one of those in the upull around here lol... so i called up toyota and and gave them that part number and the cross referenced it for me and its the same one as an sc400.... perfect cuz there was one at the upull.... scored that and the pedal assembly just incase... it fit perfect on the stock cressi pedal except for the mounting bracket for the pedal... i needed the one off the sc400 so im glad a grabbed it... got it all bolted up and bam! 5 speed x8 cressida!

Guest DuaxMachine

Still have the 7M ?

Is the oil pan in good shape?

Want to sell it, or trade for something ?

By the way, nice work, but are you like mexican ? (the colors).

please do yourself a favor and throw that aluminum crank pully in the trash... its called a DAMPER for a reason and that aluminum PULLEY is gonna do dick but cause trouble... youd be better of with a stock DAMPER or like an ati joint or fluid damper... other then that shit looks good

really? they're that bad? i even talked to the guy at drift motion about vibration and everything with out having a dampener on it and he assured me that they " make them with precise measurements so that there is absolutely no vibration or any room for failure".... i guess i got screwed on that one lol

Its not the actual pulley that causes vibration... the crank pulley is designed to dampen vibration in the rotating assembly... a piece of aluminum doesn't do that very well

and theres a new thread about it somewhere. ATi fluidamper.

The build is looking pretty good so far man. But like BWcress said, get rid of that pulley. Put the stocker back on and till you can afford a nicer one, the stock one will be good enough.

well i started this on a local forum but figure id try to redeem myself from how bad my intro went on here lol so here goes...

well not anything new on the srt

Things started out horribly because you posted a bunch of pics of your neon that you fagged out euro Volkswagen style. The worst kind of faggotry. If you still have the neon, you're still a fag.

People don't forget.

I hate the way your text reads, like your doing something new or innovative. "I had to get creative with the clutch pedal setup". No you didnt. you had to follow step by step instructions from one of a hundred threads on how to do it. Btw, cressida updates go here first from now on. Then you copy and paste that shit to your other less important forum. On a scale of 1-10 you started out at a -3 because of your douchy style, your bro car, and your shitty intro. Then you showed us all up with your 1j and that bumped you up to about a 7 because we typically are all douches. But then bought the same wheels as me, and gayed them up by painting them two different colors, which are both fucking terrible, and brought yourself back down to a 2. But then i remembered your teal engine bay, and that brings you back to a 5, mostly because i need some of that paint for my wheels and engine bay. I guess i could give you another point for running a divorced y-pipe, but i'd have to take it away again for the aluminum crank pulley, so 5 is a good number. Im on the fence about that vinyl.

That dp is not divorced

And for all you guys that don't want to run some euro trash on your car, a 2000ish sonoma/s10 belt works to eliminate ac too.

This dude is prime candidate for name change, why wasnt that done?
