zx90 Problem! Any info appreciated! Changed oil & put coil overs in ....

Hi every one,

 

As title says, i have a very odd problem with my Jzx90 1jz.

I put new oil and filter on the car Friday, then put it up on jack stands to start putting coilovers in.

Fitted Tien Flex Coilovers, Rolled the Guards and went for a drive Sunday arvo.

 

Straight away i noticed something was wrong,

vacuum on idle was normally ~25Kpa

max boost on WOT was normally ~14Psi

 

Now it is...

vacuum ~19Kpa

max boost ~9Psi

 

Car is standard besides de Cat and 3" exhaust.

No boost controller at all.

No vacuum leaks.

Doesnt blow oily smoke.

No cooler pipe leaking.

 

Any other ideas??????

Stock boost is usually 9-12. Is the weather getting warmer where you are? colder air = more boost unregulated. I know in the winter i was hitting 14 and spiking to 15-16 but now that its warm again i barely see over 10-12

That wouldnt explain the low vacuum guys. Cam timing could've jumped. Did the spool point move at all? Feel sluggish?

Ha what is wrong with you guys, I have put it on a couple of other forums....

Everyone seems to be saying its a vacuum leak, but im confident its not.

yeah, im sure its not a vac leak but ill keep going over them. Brought the Vac line tester home from work tonight so will give that a go.

just kidding. check timing and look at the wiring by the filter. the knock sensor clips are pretty flimsy. check for ecu codes too. and how much oil did you put in it?
