Guest Tyler Report post Posted February 20, 2013 I ran it on my car at 5-6 events last year with no problems, I just put on 2 m14 lock washers and used an air gun to get it tight, its pretty fucking ghetto but my steering feels great. i also converted to s-chassis inner tie rods (m16x1.0) because i use modified s14 knuckles I eventually want to get a piece welded on that keeps the spacer in place using the small notches in the ends of the rack

Guest THUG Report post Posted February 22, 2013 that looks the exact same as a rack spacer. I might be more susceptible to do it if finding a RHD rack wasn't so hard. but i can't really risk blowing my rack.
Guest Tyler Report post Posted February 22, 2013 i actually have less rack travel with my spacer than with a normal cressida tie rod end. but with the knuckles i have i still hit the (s14) control arm first
Guest THUG Report post Posted February 22, 2013 Im going to see what kind of lock i get once i instal the XM knuckles. I'm pretty sure i'll have enough at that point
Guest Georgie-Porgie Report post Posted February 22, 2013 If any of you want quicker steering, here is how you do it: Howe 2:1 steering quickener with custom shaft, and special universal joint for the X8. http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z237/duaxmachine/DSC05638.jpg I have sourced an aftermarket univeral joint that has the standard 3/4" spline on one end, and the other end has the Toyota rack spline. Turns the 3 turn lock to lock rack into a 1.5 turn.

Guest ROBAPHENT Report post Posted February 24, 2013 They are the DMax rack spacers you fit the bigger one to the passenger side and smaller one to the driver side. unsure why as of yet as other companies have one for each side. but hey Dmax guys have some big entries

THUG 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2013 So I got my xm knuckles on my 81. And as I figured, I'll need a longer tie rod setup. I've read this whole thread I'm just not sure what's going to be best Ae92 or legacy inner tie rod OR Is there a longer outer tie rod I can use. (S14?) with my stock inners
