From the looks of jeffs car I will also have to A.bang my frame in B. Notch the frame Even with zero offset wheels I was rubbing frame in x8ofdeaths car

jackc 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2011 I don't know why but they do. Don't do it. I have S13 LCA's with Xcessive knuckles + tie rod extenders. You could chop and extend your stock LCA for the same effect. I'm running 9's up front. +18 offset AFTER 20mm spacer. No rub. If they were a true +18 wheel with no spacer they would rub tension rod. No frame mods, lots of hammering. Only rubs top of fender arch at full lock. I can't find any pics at FULL lock but this setup has helped me go big on entries and saved me from spinning quite a bit. Pretty sure I had some room to turn them further in this pic. I'll try and get a better one soon.
nihonno 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2011 xm knuckles, modded lca...i can make a uturn in my driveway. pretty sure thats enough angle. no frame work at all. like a 18 +5 wheel up front 9j i think.
peptoslide 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Anyone know what ? there setup hits
Guest THUG Report post Posted June 3, 2011 i don't know what my car has. But i can pretty much do a u turn in my driveway as well. I know i don't have any angle kit stuff. I don't appear to have s13 LCA's cause otherwise i would see other bolt holes on it right? If this is stock angle, im totally stoked at that. But then again i don't think stock angle would have the tie rod hit the LCA at full lock. Or is that right? CAuse thats what mine does NO rubbing. 18x9 +28 with a 15mm spacer. So +13 UP front
peptoslide 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Anyone have steering angle measurements
Gizmo 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 This is for a x8 right? Hmm... I'm gonna take some shit apart at the junkyard and see if the s13 lower control arms work on the x7.
Guest THUG Report post Posted June 3, 2011 This is all for x8 as far as i know. iirc, the x7 uses a different LCA. But don't fucking quote me on that
mr2thomas 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 x7 rack, knuckles, no tie rod spacers needed XM tension rods would be fucking nice Bang the fuck out of the inner fender towards firewall and bang the frame rails a bit.
Bill 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 def need to work on the LCA before you'll need to work over the frame. xm knuckles and 88 x7 rack with x8 inners will be more than enough to get you that far.

peptoslide 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 Omg sorry baller lol fuck I hit frame on -10 guys
Stephen 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 I'm wanting like 64 degrees thats wayyyy too much angle. with excessive angle you lose too much speed. angle is sick, but slow is gay.... IIRC, most D1 cars are only ~45deg. you can run more to have more gangster angle, but that gives you some perspective on angle vs. speed.
x8ofdeath 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2011 ya you drop speed with more angle but the way i see it is that you just need to go faster problem solved!!! i have the excessive knuckles and am on a 16x8-10 and it holds dam near 90 degrees on manjis at sandia speedways back straight. axis888x 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 45 won't put me backwards some practice and skill will get you backwards. i bet that D1 drivers who go "backwards" don't have ghetto rigged steering racks like that. go out and drive.
peptoslide 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2011 Well sorry I can't afford d1 steering and suspension setups so I have to be ghetto.

HIZOKU 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2011 The XM Kit is 47 degrees the same as a Stock JZX81 Im getting knew knuckles on the way that will give me minimum of 52 Degrees, Now to run these correctly im also getting Subaru Brumby Tie rod ends these have the same taper as stock but are 10MM longer Now from what i have read on Knuckles im confused i believe i will need spacers like the below Unsure if they will fit as there from a nissan but i have been told tie rods are all the same thickness but yeah unsure if true or not But yeah still trying to work out everything atm
