Mitch 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 I am not sure what section to post this, but I wanted to get some info out for one of my sponsors. Xcessive Manufacturing is a custom fabrication and peformance shop based out of Portland, OR. (literally across the street from my house) They have many parts for Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Mazda and Toyota. There parts have even been used by the high end tuning shop RE Amemiya. Everything is made in house and is usually in stock ready to ship. Rich from Xcessive is very knowlegable and will answer any question you have about his products on the phone or email. Xcessive is always coming up with new products, and they are open to realistic suggestions from their customers. here are a few for reference When you call make sure to mention Mitch sent you. Mitch 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2010 It is Rich's policy not to post that he is designing a product until final production starts. He doesn't like claiming he has made something that might end up not working out. So sadly I can't let the cat out of the bag. But I can tell you there will be new parts for both x8's and x7's. If all goes well I will have "spy pics" by the end of the week.

leon.borden* 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2010 Please push X7 support! We desperately need a company who will dedicate some time in solving our rear end/rear suspension woes. It doesn't look like they normally do suspension stuff though =/

Mitch 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2010 So I finally was able to get some photos out of Xcessive. So I know x7 guys were kinda feeling left out. So Xcessive just finished and test fitted seat brackets. These will be in production real soon, hopefully in stock by months out. The new ones will be Zinc plated just like the rest, as well as being the lowest posistion possible. But don't worry x7 guys, I am working with Rich to come out with even more parts. the ones you really want, just hold on. And here is one of the pieces I have been dying to share with you guys. Protoypes are made and testing will be done by the end of the weekend. x8 steering knuckles! These are made from 1/2" plate steel and the factory tapers for FLCA and outer tie-rod are machined right in. They have been shortend by 100mm, and almost all the acromin has been removed. these will not only increase steering angle but also speed up the steering ratio. Until test fitting is performed I can't say how much more angle we will see with these, but I am definitely getting lower offest wheels to reduce chances for rubbing the frame rail. Also price on these is being discussed. Well Friday I should have photos from the test fitting and new info. There are more new parts we are developing right now for the x8, they have been made and are currently going through longevity testing. So far so good, these should also be in stock in a few weeks. But until then I can't say anymore, really wish I could but I want to keep my sponsorship.

Mitch 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2011 Testing of the knuckles was done over the weekend. They work great! Here's a pic of stock angle The stock knuckles were a bitch and a half to get off. I highly recommend using PB blaster or penetrating oil a week in advance on the ball joint and outer tie rod. Mine were so seized that I have to use an torch to heat the knuckle until I could hammer it off. All the factory tapers are machined in and fit perfectly. With most of the ackerman gone and the knuckle shortend 100mm you'll have to either run jzx100 outer tie rods or buy the extensions we are making for these. The factory setup is just too short by 3/4 of an inch. So to make extensions that are both safe and functional we had to cut the inner tierods to 3/4" to be able to fit the extensions. These extensions will be sold with the knuckles when production starts. They have grade 8 studs and lock nuts already on them so there is no worry about them backing out. Also they are long enough if you convert to S13 FLCA to space out your wheels for more clearence. The extensions are 3" overall. I had to grind the lip off the outer tierod to make it easier when aligning the front end. It's not needed, but the added room helps. If you remove all the lip, it gives you an extra 1/2" of play to the threads. I plan on either welding heim joints to my stock FLCA or make a set that has a wider stance so I clear the frame. This is the maximum angle I can get compared to stock with my current wheel setup. I'm hitting the frame at the moment, but if I put spacers on I could get another half turn out of the rack. The steering feedback gained with these knuckles is tremendous, It is very smooth and returns to center super quick. Turn-in at the corner is very precise and very managable. And weight transfering is effortless. I love these things. Production parts will be Zinc plated like all others, these are just the prototypes. Currently there is no price set yet, but I should have one shortly. If you have any questions or comments feel free.

ItsBG 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2011 We have an account with them, their stuff is awesome. I had their skid plate on my s13. It lasted a lot longer than I expected it to considering how much my car bottomed out, but eventually broke where the sway bar pressed on the back of it. Also had the lowering mounts for the KA. Either way, good stuff!
redbullx83 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2011 Fuck yea mad props is about time!!
mr2thomas 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 nice. I like the design. it looks strong. I do have one area of concern. Stock knuckle is angled on the tie rod end to fix tie rod angle since the shock is slanted inward, If you run negative camber on your top hats and these knuckles which are flat, how is the tie rod angle? Should be find as long as the outer tie rods are within range and aren't maxing out. I noticed this when i was making my own knuckles the other day. Alot easier to make them flat but alot harder to make them with the angle that is used stock.
Mitch 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 That stock angle in the knuckle that you are reffering to is designed for stock ride height. When the FLCA is located way below the rack. When you drop your car with coils the FLCA becomes the same height of the rack if not above. So the angle in the knuckle is no longer needed. hope that answers your question
mr2thomas 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 that makes sense. what if you are low and have RCA's, and negative camber? It should be fine as long as the tie rod is in range. The person who posted it has RCA's, check for me! I have the S9 RCA's and the control arm and tie rod is pretty level to the floor even though my front is slammed to shit
mr2thomas 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2011 If these are cheap, ill probably buy a set myself. Seem alot safer than my chop and weld knuckles i made. Mitch, do your tie rods hit your control arm in this picture? that and wheel sizing is keeping me from aquiring max angle, no matter which way you steer. This is mine, angle looks like yours. probably limited due to the tie rods. I removed 150mm and a bit of ackerman. I have the angle on the tie rod part of the knuckle very close to stock. pretty level, tie rod within range. See if you could post pictures of yours at lock or whatever. i THINK that before i had RCA's, the tie rod didnt hit the control arm, it might have just gone over or under the control arm giving it a bit more clearance. Not sure. I dont think i have any problems with tie rod length because im using an x7 rack which is a bit longer. x7 rack with stock knuckles i have to almost max out the tie rods to toe out to get zero toe.
