Mitch 0 Report post Posted November 22, 2010 So Rich has produced another great piece for the x8. Xcessive seat brackets <--------- Link these brackets sit as low as possible and will fit most bottom mount seats with or with out sliders. I'm currently running these on a Sparco Sprint with slider and a Mazdaspeed seat without for the passenger side. Each bracket will fit both passenger and drivers bolt pattern, and allow you to shift the seat left or right of center to clear door bars. there is a seperate model with tabs to allow bolting to a smaller bottom mount seat such as a mazdspeed recliner with out slider. found --------> here All brackets are in stock ready to ship! mr2thomas 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Very nice. looks amazing compared to the one i made... What do you guys do about the lap belt receiver thing?
lucas 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2010 Im running the rear passenger lap belt recievers from the early 80's camry. The cress front belt blades are strangly wide and that generation camry the only thing I could find that would fit. I bolted it to the trans tunnel behind the front seats. There is a mount for the guide that aligns the factory belt recievers on the seats. It works great, you just have to dig for the belt when you get in. Mitch 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 bump to the top!
BudgetVIP 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2010 Another way to make the belt receivers like Lucus was saying is you can take the stock one off of your driver seat and mount it on the tunnel. I did that and when you bolt it down you have to make an adjustment so it is at the right angle to clip the belt in when your seat is at your position as when you do it this way, it doesn't swivel. Just another way in case you can't find the other receivers. By the way, the brackets look very nice.
Guest RoyRogers Report post Posted February 12, 2011 just got mine in a couple days ago...installed everything today...by far the lowest seat bracket made for the X8 period.. .good shit. my only major gripe about the bracket.....well mine at least, is that the four holes that mount the bracket to the floor do not line up. I'm going to have to grind down the hole to make it bigger so if fits (which i really don't want to do because since there are 3 holes on the tab there is not a lot of metal to work with in the first place). only have 3 bolts holding it down right now. no matter what i did i could not get all 4 holes to line up. i tried to do everything really loose and get everything lined up then tighten down but still no luck. (sorry for the shitty pics)
Mitch 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2011 Well I am sorry to hear it is not linning up. I personally have two sets out ot the same batch as you bought and they fit just fine. Are you using one outside slot and one middle slot in the rear? What I mean is you either use the middle of the left and the outside of the right, or the middle of the right and the outside of the left. depending if it is used on the driver's or passenger's side of the car it switches. This should work. Like this please try this and get back to me.
Guest RoyRogers Report post Posted February 14, 2011 i did try it like that and no matter what i did it didn't work. i have already ground down the bracket to make it work....it just looks weird but it works i guess. I'm trying to order another one for my passenger side but the website doesn't even give me the option to order one anymore..only the one with the extra bracket thingys for $97.. when i try to click on the link for the regular ones for $90... the site redirects me to the knuckles page. wtf! i also don't understand why there are 3 holes for the back to begin with..it's not like it's really adjustable. one hole measured perfectly would have sufficed...i don't mean to sound like a dick but i was just curious as to why that was part of the design? oh and i tried to put the bracket on the passenger side just to see if my driver side was fucked and out of shape and the fitment on passenger side was exactly the same...so nothing is out of wack. Guest RoyRogers Report post Posted February 14, 2011 just ordered bracket for passenger side...hope it fits right cuz grinding that shit down is not fun...trust me.
Mitch 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 The mutltiple slots are designed so each bracket can fit both driver's side and passenger's side. The front spacing is identical between each side. But the the rear bolts are offset, and mirrored* to each other. Using the middle slot of one side and the outside slot of the other.
Guest RoyRogers Report post Posted February 14, 2011 i got ya. cool. definitely a good product can't wait to order knucks!
Mitch 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2011 Called Rich, he is double checking his jig that he welds these in. Also I will be going by the shop to test fit them again.
exciting sedan 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2011 RoyRogers - Try lining up the rear left with the outside hole and the rear right with the middle hole, just like what Mitch mentioned guaranteed it will work. I also used both the outer holes on one side to mount my Bride slider since they are a bit wider than the Sparco ones untill everything lined up. Universal fitment is a I used the Xcessive Seat brackets for the x8 in my Cressida this past week to install my Bride reclinable, the fitment is great! good quality seat brackets. Looking forward to getting other products from Xcessive. Drivers side, rear:
slug 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 Sorry to bring back a thread from the dead but I have the exact same problem as royrogers. identical fit. There is no combination that places the last bolt hole in the right place. If I drill through the material to make room for the bolt, there's no material left... I'm thinking of grinding it though and using a plate washer, what a pain in the ass after $250 to get these up to Canada.

bradlee 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 the more serious design flaw XM suffers from is the white text on black background for product install instructions on their website. shit is still blurry as i'm typing this...
slug 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 bend the bracket? there are 4 mount points, and its a square. remember when you were 2 years old putting the square shape through the square hole? I guess you just tried to put the triangle in the square hole and never really understood why it didn't fit.
aphxero 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 I like how people don't even call them.
slug 0 Report post Posted February 19, 2014 I've been in contact with them already. Just a heads up for anyone buying these, they are made assuming your rear bolt spacing is 18.375". I have confirmed that my cressida and a couple others are all exactly 18.25". Maybe thats a Canadian thing or something I'm not sure. I never heard back from them after we exchanged dimensions and realized they are different. Whatever.
