without going into detail, these companies FUCKED ME in the last 2 months, I'm sure there's nothing new here for some of you, but I personally don't put up with BULLSHIT more than one time. these companies are on my LIFE PERMABAN list.

FED EX and UPS - $250 worth of undesputable COD charges mailed to me 2 months after package arrived with no COD at time of delivery, this is a new trick to get people to pay their COD fees or risk losing credit from collection agencies.

AT&T - $120 outrageous roaming fees

JAPAN POWER INC. - $200 stolen as a deposit for motor they couldn't supply then decided to keep the money.

I will vouch on UPS fucking me over.

-They said 500 dollars to ship a transmission from Hawaii to Texas. No problem right? I was told they took the money from my account before it was shipped. I was cool with that. 5 months later I received a bill stating I owe 500 dollars. WTF? So I call them for over a week, getting transferred from department to department until finally I received a notice saying that my ass was sent to collections.

Another company is ASAP Motors, now known as star motors or something.

-Friend fried my STI's clutch, made him pay for it, only to find out he fucked my synchro and one of my gears as well. Was told by the trans specialist over here it would cost 5g's to fix and would be better to buy one. Friend moved to mainland before I could make his ass pay. Ended up buying a "certified" trans for 3k. Waited 4 months when I was told 2 weeks. Come to find out they sent me the wrong transmission. They tried to convince me that it would fit when it obviously looked very different from my current one. So I told them I wanted my money back, they told me to get fucked. If I wanted a refund I would have to pay the shipping from Hawaii to Texas and they would have to inspect the trans to see if it warranted a refund. So having no other options, I payed the money to ship it back. After that it was the waiting game, I kept calling and it was one excuse or the other. Oh the boss isn't in, she's at a funeral, she's sick..etc. etc... Finally after 6 MONTHS, they said they would only give me 2500 back because nothing was wrong with the trans and it was a restocking fee. So all in all, fuck that place with a baseball bat.

I understand I was dumb enough to buy into the "certified" used parts game, but hey I young and dumb.

The only 2 vendors I had back luck with auto parts and service over the last decade are either no longer in business or is UPS ... (of course AT&T sux too).

Word to the wise ... do not ship heavy motors/trannys/diffs via ups or fed ex .... hire a real heavy freight company such as ABF, Yellow, LandStar, Wabash, etc ... depends on where to and from you are shipping of course but I've had good experience with ABF. Make sure the motor vendor palatalizes the load and bands and shrink raps the shit out of the palette before shipping too!

Props/Pros:

Grip Industries: If you don't feel like doing your own swap or need wiring done, and are in the Southeastern US, these guys are very familiar with the JZ motors and the X8x and X7x chassis, and I've lost count with the number of just Cressida swaps they've done in the time I've known them.

JHOT: Purchased my first 1JZ set from them, very good price and very easy to work with for motor sets and other body parts.

JDM DEPOT: Purchased my current X83's 1JZ from these guys. OMG they sent me one of the cleanest 1JZ's i've ever laid eyes on! Shipping was fair from NJ @ 160 for a palatalized engine to Florida.

Prolink Japan: Purchased some really hard to find JDM parts from my 2JZ-GTE VVTi swap from these guys. Brian is good people and although his prices are usually top dollar, he backs and warranties everything he sells, and he personally goes to Japan 2-3 times a year on the parts runs to verify the parts before shipping.

Ebay: I say buyer beware ... I purchased practically every part for my last swap (the MK3 Supra in my sig) from EBAY! No issues with shipping for crappy vendors. Just sayin ... I've had 99% good luck with ebay ... one bad part in almost 50 purchases. If you know how to use ebay it is a very useful tool!

and a 5/10 rating to Japan General Motors out of Quebec ... Purchased my 2JZ-GTE VVT-i motor set from these guys, however I had a few communications issues with them (heavy French accents, poor English) and it took several emails and phone calls to resolve an issue, which did eventually get resolved to my satisfaction. Great shipping price, once the mis-communications and issues were resolved, everything went smoothly. I know 1 other person that purchased (locally to me) a 1JZ-GTE VVT-i motorset from these guys without any issues so ....

I would recommend that you guys start using credit cards to make funky/expensive transactions. If they screw you over (like sending you the wrong transmission) you can call up the credit card company and they will refund you the money until they do a bullshit investigation. Its not much, but its one more safeguard.

I used to always hear bad things about osaka jdm back in the day, like when JDM engines were something really special, like 1999. I guess them being around so long they can't be all bad.

Big thumbs up for shogun86 for hooking me up with my USDM 550cc injectors. They got here like 5 days after I sent payment.

I bought my 2JZ-GTE Aristo from Japan General Motors as well and the service was great. Ordered the motor on a Friday and had the motor at my house on Wednesday the following week. They had a sale on shipping so I pretty much didn't pay anything for the shipping. I speak French so I the communication was fine, but their English wasn't bad at all. I called them up and asked them to send me pics before I bought the motor and within like 10 minutes I had the email! Maybe it was a slow day, but I consider that great service. Got the motor and it was spotless. No oil or rust anywhere. I don't think any company i've seen can beat their prices or shipping rates.

I give them a 8/10. Reason being is that I haven't started the motor yet.

10/10 - Amazon.com

I ordered my Gates Racing Timing Belt from them on Monday for $54.99 and they gave me free 2 day shipping! I got it today (Wed), double boxed so they protected it well i guess. Anything that I need that's free get's a thumbs up from me!

Bless

Long story short. Lotta crap happened during that time frame. Pulling me away from being able to handle the situation on top of something happening with USPS and the parts that where shipped during thanksgiving weekend getting massively delayed, returned, or just plain MIA. 99% of you received your parts or a refund/won claim from paypal. If there is anyone to whom i still need to make right please pm me. I'll ensure you get your money back. I love all of you guys on here and the last thing I wanted to do was leave anyone feeling screwed over. I got my shit on track and trying to make right.

While I dont really care anymore as I did get my money back via paypal....ignoring emails, pms, and calls doesnt really go over well when someone pays you hundreds of dollars....The story your giving is pretty much the same story all scammers have given since the beginning of the internet.

Whether shit went down or not....I dont particularly care....I told you then and Im telling you now...Im a fairly understanding guy....All you woulda had to do was own up and all would have been well.....you choose another path....and this is where it ends up.

That being said....I dont hold any ill feelings as I did get the money back and you didnt really try and block that.....it woulda been easier to refund it....but meh all that matters is I got it back.

I did my best to make sure everyone got refunded. I was unable to access a computer to contact anyone during that time. I wasn't trying to scam anyone. Most every one,got the parts I sent. The ones that didn't got their money back via paypal or I just sent them it as gift via paypal to cover it.

ZEROLIFT AUTOLAB. absolutley terrible!

ordered a 1j front sump/supra r154 complete swap through them. sent payment MAY 3rd, 2011.

it has been 28 days and i have yet to receive a tracking number. Ive called numerous times, even left messeges regarding my swap and I have yet to receive a call back.

Every time i get them to answer the phone it seems like they make excuses and still havent given me an ETA on when my swap will be shipped.

luckily I did pay using paypal, I just opened a dispute to hopefully put some incentive under their asses to ship my engine.

we'll see how this turns out, ill be calling today and see what kind of excuses I get...

1. Gerard @ SerialNine always delivers.

2. Aaron @ Driftmotion ; they sent me -04AN hose by accident so he sent me the correct -06AN for free. and I live in Canada, so it would have cost him a little. I appreciated that a lot.

3. cheap HKB steering wheel hubs on ebay are SHITTY, not drilled straight!. i just got one that was actually drilled crooked and my nice nardi deepcorn wheel wobbles. how the fuck?? also the HKB cheapo china hub in my protege came loose after a while and i didn't really notice until mats (mr.240sx 'gold in the net' DMCC jzx90) grabbed it and it was all loose haha shit. learned my lesson, just picked up an NRG short hub to use my 50mm spacer with to convert it to nardi pattern. should be good and NOT CROOKED!!! no more cheap steering stuff for me ever again.

4. oh and THUG was fast shipping my wheels and stayed in communication the whole time. pretty rare level of good communication. thup.gif

Xcessive Manufacturing - A lot of us have bought from Rich and pretty much know he's a great to deal with.

Daft Innovations - Rich, He's my neighbor, he's just crazy when it comes to quality everything has to be perfect, and customer service is great. I'll personally vouch for him.

Jacob - His form of shipping is terrible (Me) but great seller.

Foompla - he's a fuck head that I'd deal with again if I needed to.

aphxero - No hesitation at all to do business with again.

LoL, yeah his packing is a bit strange too.

Bought his sway bars, and they came wrapped in what looked to be a cum soaked moving blanket

But I threw in in the washing machine, and now I have a free-be moving blanket :)

+1 for Jacob !
