That is why I came up with the double plate set-up.

And what nobody fucking listens to, is that the nose of the mkIII housing is higher, and won't allow the diff to set in at the correct angle, because it hits the front of the subframe. And I suspect the XM piece make it worse.

 

Why does that matter ?

Because children, when the angle of the diff is no longer parrellel with the trans output shaft, the u-joints cause the pinion gear to speed up, and slow down twice every revolution, inducing a constant harmonic into both the trans, and the gear set.

(and people wonder why they kill trans.......)

 

Oh fuck it.........

Just mount the supra diff. For the most part, all these cars will be parted out before long anyway.

This very well could be the case with the two peice drive shaft idk

But my one peice behind the R154 it looks real close to level.

Glad to see we had initial shit talking then actual intelligent input.

 

Now, with your double plate setup, I definitely had something like that drawn out [after I read your build thread in full]. Made sense to combat all the bullshit twist I read about. Have any design additions you'd consider after the fact? I bought 2 XM plates to somewhat mimic the design. The reason I asked about the XM MK3 conversion was because it made sense to add another post for strength issues but it seemed to make fitment trash - which is why I looked for MX83 specific LSD's that weren't easy to find and also inquire on why the MK3 pumpkin swap was so popular.

 

Not trying to flood someones build thread with nonsense but also trying to better understand the choices people make.

Fix some things order some things. Notice that when i drive the car at full throttle it acted really funny as soon as boost came on. So i thought to my self how is this thing acting and went to do research. For some reason i bet Rue could whip up those throttle delete parts quicker than you would get them and in better quality.

 

would be cool to see if they worked in the VVti 2jzgte's, would love to go that route if my Second UZ dies.
