WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2019 ^^ I offered to suck his peen to get him back but he was hesitant to accept my offer. Was able to get the car sorted for relatively cheap for once. Already had the extra pair of axles that are longer the q45 ones. So @vampirebeats and I wasted a whole morning fucking around and swapped the damaged CV end to the longer axle (The damage really shouldn't matter because the axle is almost 2 inches longer so theres no way it's coming out, or even wearing on the same spot the old axle did on the CV race tracks.) I Put it all back together and inspected the clearances with the boots off to make sure the new longer axle wasn't gonna bottom out on the output flange for the diff and it looked pretty good. (~1/2 inch from bottoming out when axle was straight from end to end.) Drove it to FD and back this last weekend both days, went to double check everything underneath and realized I clamped the boot incorrectly (wayyy outside of the channel) and it ripped. So had to take it all out and pull the race off the axle to swap a new boot on, whoops. With @white_raven's help did our best garage alignment, since the firestone fucks got a new machine and it won't do my car anymore. One side looks like it's pretty much close to if not at 0 degrees for camber and the other side still has a little bit of negative, but the cambolt's alignment ring thing is hitting the welds from the fabrication shop, so I might try grinding those down a little bit (if it's safe) to see if I can get it closer to zero. Anyways White Raven was coming up for FD so I told him he could take the V8 car out for the open drift day following FD. As usual the V8 car ripped all day with no issues other than getting kinda warm, but the turnout was kinda low to this event so the lines were short. One of my flex-a-lite fan motors died (thanks a lot @Gordo ... jk I know they are like 5 years old at least at this point) so I also had to join the hoodless coalition. Here is the usually shitty photo dump: Bonus tire shot, the most even tire wire I've ever gotten on an x7: White Raven aka Stephen did super solid for have never driven that car before and I think his last time actually drifting was 8+ years ago at this point. I also finally used my go pro for the first, I just gotta figure out how to trim the videos down and re-encode so they aren't 1-2gigs each.

WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2019 Almost done with his x7 again, but also building crazy "pit bikes" that go like 50MPH+ and a Honda that they are racing in the lemons series
Gordo 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2019 .....and swears that he will never come back here again, due to interaction between Bill, a newb that bought Bills X8, and himself. The newb was a complete moron, and ended up parting out the car, and is also long gone, thank god ! But we lost Rue due to Bill protecting the idiot, because he hadn't received 100% payment yet Bill gave Rue a suspension, Rue said go fuck yourself... Real shame. NAC 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2019 It boggles my mind that anyone would sell someone a car and give them the keys before getting 100% payment. Am I just a paranoid weirdo?

WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2020 I stopped driving this hoopty because the damaged CV has been shredding boots and slanging axle grease all over my exhaust. Overall I don't think I've done much since the last update. My tooner hooked me up with launch control because you know I'm really gonna make use of it with 215s And I finally got my switched hooked up and working correctly, now I have MASSIVE boost control between 9 and 13psi (which is also kind of redundant as my target boost is also mapped to TPS so I think a good driver wouldn't actually need this but we all know I can't drive for shit haha). As if I'll ever not be on 13 now that I don't rip rears. Finally got my rack relocated, I think the dude did a solid job. Move the whole section instead of just moving the mounts like I've seen others do. Hopefully it holds up. As you'll see from the pictures it's pretty much as close as it can be without having to modify the rack further. No longer have any binding near lock so thats nice hopefully it stops eating bushings every damn event. Also finally nutted up and bought a kaaz for the 8" diff, just trying to find an new if possible 3.91 R&P. Also go full bearing/seal/solid pinion spacer kit from weir to rebuild it. Forgot I got another pair of CV ends from Weir so I can replace the destroyed one and have an extra axle or 2 on the side ready to go because I'm paranoid about everything. Other than that just waiting for a few lines to be made pretty much stuck on that for now =( I'd still like to hit my new oil cooler this year but we'll see. Other news I bought another dodge and have been messing with that more. Its a 91 (pre 91.5) so it's non intercooled, It's got over 300k miles (odo frozen at 302k) but seems to run decently. Just be fixing up all the little running gear annoyances before I swap it all on to the short bed probably later this year. Skrilled out for the superQ cause why not? (SAT3030) incase anyone trying to kaaz their 8" diff Excuse the horrible hammer paint job I did hah. R Actually enjoying the truck way more than I thought I would.
