Bill 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2008 I'm one of those guys who really can't deal with broken CT12's anymore, and i'm not really in a position to spend any money on a single, but i'm not going to let it stop me from driving my car. I'm looking for something I can unbolt the existing twins from my JZA70 1JZ in my Cressida, and bolt on a Driftmotion kit that comes with the manifold, turbo, wastegate, oil lines, etc.. and an unfinished 3" downpipe that simply makes a 90 degree downward turn so i can make my own downpipe. I'd also like to make enough power to safely use the stock injectors (300-350hp?). and add a piggyback AFC. I'm looking for a basic, cheap turbo (journal bearing?) that acts much like stock with nice predictable response. I really just need to get rid of the failing turbos on the stock motor, and I need to do it for the cheapest cost possible. I already have a decent boost controller, walbro 255 fuel pump, 3" exhaust, and a decent sized 2.75" in/out intercooler with some spare 2.75" piping to work with the new single. everything else i'm going to need. just wondering what is available at DM for a guy on a tight budget?? BigAaron 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 You just totally described my ct26 bolt on kit $325 for the manifold kit, you find a used ct26 on your own for under $100, get a used 7m-gte downpipe from a buddy, and viola! Cheap boosting fun. I am working on a single kit withh a nice journal bearing turbo thats going to be around $1500. I have been battling backorders on various parts of the kit though. Looks like about a few more weeks wait on this.
Bill 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2008 Your CT26 kit is cool, i was thinking about it but i wasn't that happy about running another CT turbo. I have a worn out CT26, if I can get it rebuilt within my budget range, I'll probably be placing an order soon. I'd send you guys my CT26 for a rebuild, but I'm pretty far. I'd really like a .57 trim, but again, I think my budget will probably only let me get a straight up local rebuild. Probably just buy an exhaust flange and make a downpipe. If I can't find a place that I can trust to rebuild my CT I'll be calling you guys up. I still want to know about you journal bearing budget setup when it's available. Thanks Aaron. miles 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2008 usps sucks ass hole ups cost more for anything under 2 lbs, but after that, just go UPS if it gets lost, stolen, broke, sucked up by a tornado, distroyed in an earthquake, ect.. they will send you a check for the ammount of insurance you put on the package. i <3 ups
Bill 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 just kinda sucks that i asked for purolator, but apparently arron said he had problems with them.. so now he has problems with them and usps.. i see a trend.. haha. i still don't really care that part of my dm stuff got lost without a trace. the stuff i did get was still worth more than i payed. just not that fun to not get everthing you pay for and no tracking numbers or proof anything even got shipped.. whatever. like i said, i'm still pretty happy with what i got. Mats 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2008 Bill are you sure they have Purolator in the states? everytime i ship with Purolator and its going to the US its either DHL or UPS that delivers the item to the US receiver.
Jason 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2008 purolator is oil filters. dhl supposedly is ceasing all US activity. by the time you pay for all the extras with USPS you might as well just ship UPS cause the extras are all included.
