Bill 0 Report post Posted April 18, 2008 i think the ct26 kit is for ct26 7M owners going 1J. I liked the idea at first because it would work, but I think the way to go is a cheap single, manifold and stuffs..

Macintosh Classic 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 empathy from personal XP . .. . .. you have done a few swaps so it's either really really really annoying by now or just the way it goes so fugit. if it is some consolation, G is currently (as you sleep) swapping all his crap into his new shell . .. solo
Jason 0 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 whata fuckin trooper. seriously. id probably putz around getting all that shit swapped and take like a week or 3 to do it. hes probably done already. yea i hate swaps. serious. pitmfa. i said i wasnt gonna do it again after the h22 civic....3 swaps later..... after payday next week i should have the money/credit to be placing my order for the majority of my big single shit. *fingers crossed*
Panchira! 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 tell me about it. waiting for your paycheck then just sitting on the money untill you have enough to buy just 1 part.....im used to it by now. so what turbo kit did you end up going withh? heres more pics of the DM gt35 kit: good luck
Jason 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 watercooled center section is unnecessary. did they finally get you a complete bolt in DP? or does that all gotta be fabbed? i didnt order anything yet. im hoping to order it next week so it comes in when im out of town for the week. PS im flying to sea-tac on the 3rd. its a work trip. i dont have my itinerary yet so there mayyyy be some downtime if someone wants to come get lunch/dinner. we MAY be staying in seattle saturday...but then we drive to winthrop at some point. again, im unsure of the itinerary but yea ill keep you posted as i get the details! ok i lied. heres the itinerary... checkin at the holiday inn, everett WA starting at 11:00am saturday. all day in everett. sunday is workshops and then the long ass drive to winthrop. were in winthrop to the 8th...not sure if were spending all day there or sleeping in seattle or what exactly the deal is.... Panchira! 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 why do you say watercooled center section is worthless? its there to help keep the turbo center cooler and help fight oil sludging and you dont need to keep your timer at 5 mins idling it down for the oil to cool it.... just my thoughts... as for the DP i got to make it. i found a 2.5" t3 flange to a 3" vband adapter so i can run a 3" DP. i still got to buy a welder so i can do the exhaust, fenders and bracing the diff mounts....im not sure if the jz sits further back in the engine compartment compared to the lexus sc's or mk3 supras so i dont know if you can use one of thoes DP. let me know what you do im getting to that point where i need to do that too. Jason 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2008 turbo timers are a racket. if they were necessary cars would come with them from the factory. my buddy had one on his SR and the only time the timer ever went into auto increase mode (its set for 1:30 and increases with TP) was when he got on it. drive it around normal as you approach your destination and it will cool off fine. change your oil consistantly and you wont sludge or coke the turbo. besides if you coke the turbo thats a good excuse to replace it with something bigger and better. i dont have the pics on this comp, but another friend built a twincharged evo. the turbo was a holset hx50. the car was built for street driving. full interior. twin intercoolers including a powercooler. (coolant chilled with freon) guess what he didnt use....the water cooling passages of the center section. with all the other fab and rediculousness, that single mod would have taken a miniscule fraction of the time and money used to build that car. the guy had plenty of money to burn too...didnt bother cause its just not worth it. edit motor laid out 670+ on the dyno. Jason 0 Report post Posted May 31, 2008 all my shit is here. i gotta get my charge pipe modified for the turbo outlet, make sure one of my million silicone couplers will do the job, and bolt everything up. oil pressure sender (P.M.N.MARK) needs (sent here) hooked up. ps lines need hooked up. boost gay-uge needs hooked up. walbro needs installed. safc tuned for 14 psi...OR lighter spring installed in the WG. next week is going to own everything that once owned. toycoma 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2008 besides if you coke the turbo thats a good excuse to replace it withh something bigger and better. COKE?? or did you mean cook.
Jason 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 i mean COKE...as is the oil cooks in the center section and then COKES in the oil passages thus inhibiting center section oiling. think of it as high cholesterol for your oil system, slowly creating a block. does anyone have pics of the intended center section orientation with the driftmotion shit? ive got it how its *supposed* to be (oil feed at the top, drain at the bottom) and it looks like the drain line isnt quite oriented properly. i DONT have the ANs locked down just yet so theyre still able to be swiveled. ill try again tomorrow, but hopefully someone can shed some light for me.
