picked it up from a hot teacher for $500.

her mechanic said the head was cracked and fubar'd, and the car needed a new engine.

turns out it just had a BHG.

replaced it, put it back together, and it runs now.

i got tired of stock cressida wheels, so i put on my SSR colins and supras, and learned that i REALLY need to lower this car:

next step is a 5 speed swap and IRS swap from either a MKII or X63.

then maybe hit the track?

if she wasn't married and brought her husband withh her, i would've asked for pics withh her.

plus her husband was a dick, and completely hated this car. i guess it was his grandpa's car and his grandpa was the original owner, that garaged it and barely ever drove it since 1982.

he asked me if i was gonna put a "fat system in it."

haha.

got the springs cut yesterday, shocks were blown a couple decades ago.

test drove the car, and it sounds like it's missing at idle and feels like it isn't running at 100%, although it is just a 5M-E.

brakes need to be bled really bad, and power steering moans and groans like a dirty girl.

on another note, i found a MKII supra that i may use as a parts car for an IRS/LSD and W58 swap for this car.

pics to come when it has a lip, bled brakes, and proper timing, so it can actually come out of the cramped garage.

which should be sometime this weekend.

so it's been a while.

the car is semi roadworthy now!

i just have to figure out what's up withh the brakes..

you can push the pedal down and get nothing, nothing, nothing, then WHAM, you get your face in the windshield. i've narrowed it down to either a bad BMC, or shot calipers.

but anyway, i cut the springs, and put a home depot lip on the car. the bright orange zipties were just to fit it and see how it looks. i may be having a lateral rod issue, withh it being so low. i'll have to drive it some more and see if the ride height in the rear evens out.

PICS

X6s have such awesome lines, makes me want to get one...

Your brake issue sounds like a leaky/improperly bled something. Is there any fluid in the carpet by the brake pedal or rust on the booster?

I'd love to see the 5ME withh a huge cam and triple webers or solexes.

Cut the springs in half. Most springs cut in half will be the perfect stance for old cressidas.
