The stock tank really is in a terrible location. There is a potential for quite a lot of weight aft of the axle which isn't ideal. Plus the way the stock tank is designed, it has issues with fuel-pick-up when the level is lower and under more extreme G-forces. I've actually had issues with stalling when I get to about 1/3 of a tank and throw it around some tighter corners. Took me a while to figure out what was happening. In order to do the fuel cell right, you would probably have to do some fab work to the chassis/trunk floor to really tuck it forward but not too high up..

So far driving I haven't experienced any issues with it, the car handles great from what I can tell. Ideally the lower the better. But it also comes down to how much do you care about it. I've ran this setup in previous cars, no problems.

You will always find people who will tell you you're an idiot and you should lower it cause your cars gonna flip over with it that high and omg just cause you see a lot of drift cars do this doesn't mean its right and ur dumb and etc.

Oh welllllllllllllllllllllllll.

I mean, a bunch of newer cars put their tanks above the subframes and the car handled better..ie s13 vs 14/15s

if it was easy to find a mx83 tank in florida i would get it but there hard to find an at this point its cheaper to do a fuel cell setup anyways.

SC300s have tanks in the trunk.

I really don't see why it is such a thing other than people like fucking with me in my build threads lmao.

YALL DONT WANNA SEE ME SUCCEED THATS ALL. Jk, good luck man.

I do believe this is where they are as well. Lots of cars have them there. Just need a fire wall between. It's also in a safe spot there. Surge tanks are the "new" hotness. Wish I learned about them sooner. Beneficial for all race cars, especially drift cars lol

^^ I do regret not running one in my current setup.  I guess it's never too late to add one in though I just didn't want to drill and bring gas into the trunk

The only good fuel cells out there are the ATL, and Fuel Safe.
Second on the list are any steel canister cells with a hard plastic liner.

All plastic, or aluminum welded boxes from china are less safe than a stock tank.
They are great looking, only the people who don't value their lives, as those welded seams are the weak point, and can rip open with even a slight impact.
And who knows what E-85 does to them. When I run alcohol in a vehicle, the system is drained after every event, and flushed, just to prevent the corrosion that it causes.

As far as slosh control, I hope you all realize that that fucking foam needs to be changed out yearly, as it turns into a soft, sticky substance the consistency  of the white fluffy shit on top of a lemon meringue pie. It will clog a fuel system when it starts coming apart.
(been through that once)

If you want to go that way, and are willing to buy new stuff every year, you can add it to a stock tank, or buy some of the Holley Fuel Mat.

Ok found the pictures

Stock fuel tank, but with dual pump's in Matt L's car

My setup, (might still go this route in new build) not sure why i had the smaller cell, the plan was to use it as a surge tank with dual intake pump's then i was like NAH CBF and purchased the in cell surge setup and had a 044 in it.

then i sold my Cell and it went into this JZX100 FD car,  Power vehicles build for Australia FD, as you can see it is mounted directly over the sub frame if i was to do things again i would probobly do something like this as well. but with the radium intake setup witch is now what all the power vehicles use.

@Gordo you know what I'm going to use for slosh control?

Whiffle balls.

Nah fuck you. I didn't need to build a trial car just to rebuild one again the right way.

Whiffle balls actually work, far better than foam.

Just make sure you use chinese whiffle balls as they contain lead, like all toys out of china do.
It leaches out, and improves fuel quality.
