Coming soon/New products

Recommended Posts

Thought I would make a place we can all post new products we stumble across that are more X8 related

anyway, Hardrace has bought out some lower arm's for X81's. i wonder if this will mean more products by them for X8s

Those look convenient. The thing about the XM rear arms is they aren't really easy to adjust once installed. But they are pretty beefy which is nice.

The finish and pillow balls look like nice quality on these Hardrace pieces.

To add value to this thread, 4 piston and 6 piston CTS-V brake caliper brackets were launched earlier this year for X8 application. I'd really like a set although I'm sure my Nissan 4-pots are plenty good enough.

  • 6 Pot calipers require Audi S5, Audi part #4G0615301

Audi Disc? that is 5 x 112 so you would need to re drill disc's. but as you said Skyline ones are awesome. I was looking at putting on 17z/18z calipers on mine but we will see. only reason being as there cheaper then skyline calipers here.

90% of people in Aust have had issues with XM gear snapping/not going down to zero camber when low. so always looking for alternatives. as you said to cant adjust when it is on the car easily

Contacted hard race, they actually have everything and one arm is the same as JZX100.

so here is another option for people.

If you can get away without using Xcessive parts, you’ll be better off for sure. I had plans of building my own front arms and using the Russian rears.

for body parts, y’all need to follow d_apex_works on Instagram. Dude made a whole rear x81 MarkII FRP rear clip as well as fenders, doors, bonnet, the works. I’m fucking sick about the rear as I’ve been waiting two years for him to complete this so I could actually have a nice car again.

EDIT: actually just hit up the d apex dude and told him to make an account here. I super vouch for this dude, don’t be cunts.

meganracing arms supposedly coming out in Jan 2019... We'll see, they said Fall 2018 but that has come and gone. They look like the Hardrace ones posted above.

Which look just like the ones that have been in Japan for a decade.
Pretty sure they are chink sourced also, as people have been bending the silvia ones by the same manufacturer.

They are all hit and miss, china can build some awesome stuff if you are willing to pay.

when i was getting quotes to get some items machined, they had quilaity grades from A being best E being worse.

E being  with in 5mm and only the first item checked. to A being with in .005mm and every item checked.

as for hard race and megan arms i would say they are close to on par with each other hard race has semi decent rep in the grip racing seen.

in regards to KFD Spoilers and arm's well nothing but bad news from them from items not fitting and spoilers folding in on them self due to the one layer of fiberglass, some might remember i posted a picture on facebook of the fitment of a KFD item it was poor.

+1 DAPEXworks well be buying item's off him that is for sure.

Let me guess....
Aluminum, right ?

regular roll center adjust, corrects lower control arm angle to help eliminate bump-steer

Ackerman adjust gives near zero Ackerman so front wheels don't fight each other at extreme counter-steer gives parallel steering

NCRCA: Negative Camber roll center adjust, same as regular roll center adjust but adds negative camber to wheel by pushing hub out same as longer lower control arms would do.

I do believe they are aluminum with steel locating dowels

And you don't see a strength issue with the forces involved, and a bunch of holes placed so close together in aluminum ?

I don't get why these need to be "adjustable"? Like, are you going to change those around from day to day? Drive to the track in stock mode, change to zero-akerman, align car, drift for a few hours, change back to stock akerman, align car again, drive home.. I guess I don't understand the point. Just buy what you need and enjoy not having extra metal removed..

Same could be said for people who have knuckle's, why do you need them? you can do backwards entry's on stock knuckles and have the easy of driving.....

but the use i see is, grip vs drift day's and different tracks you might not want zero

I don't think he's arguing why would you want less Ackerman. I think his point is that in order to go between the "modes" any adjustment no matter how easy it is to adjust the part, would have to be paired with an alignment.  I think for most people the effort of switching modes between "daily" and "drift" or what have you isn't worth it.  I have lifetime alignment on both of the drift cars and I still would be too lazy to deal with that.

Most drift meet's we have string alignment tools and so on, so i guess not much of an issue vs america maybe?
