[HIZOKU] PIG EYE Streeter

Recommended Posts

My Coil overs are almost complete, ended up going a bit heavier on the valving and a bit softer on the spring (6kg) with a 430mm length. so this leaves me with a list of upgrade to LSD, new bushes and disc's and the rear end should be complete. feels good having a bit of progress on a build considering how long i put everything off to setup a company and get into a house, hopefully progress keeps happening.

That really is the coolest 2JZ spark plug cover. Also, GTE valve covers on N/A ITB setup is the business.

I dislike the depression in the GE valve covers to compensate for the intake manifold crossover.

To be honest, the GTE covers of a VVTI dont  fit on the non VVTI side, i had to modify the mounting holes to do so. it was not to bad only about a inch out on some hole's but this is probobly something no one will tell you and i have read it before people saying they are a direct swap.

Getting the pulley kit this Friday, so hopefully by Saturday i will have all the front covers on and ATI balancer/Greddy pulley's

Sorry for the instergram filter's, forgot to upload these to imgur before making them fancy, so had to download them off that to then re upload.

Sheeting shaft done, need to buy tie rod's and rack end's to complete but still on fence if i will run stock X3 arm's or go a tad longer with X62.

In regards to the rear subframe and diff mount' they are complete, removed bushes put in the new super pro one's, added the camber mod plate's, got to clean it all up a bit but rear end is in for now, have to set it up as best i can, need to order some desk's and so on. but esentially the "custom" side of the fabrication work is done and it is now just neating item's up and painting them a pretty black.

dqI4xtd.jpgePNCWNV.jpg

Ended up taking the water pump off the engine to replace it and it turns out there was a bit of gunk in there, so going ahead and replacing the whole rear housing and flushed the engine out to get what i could out, how ever i now have to wait for the rear housing to arrive so engine is disassembled again and i will most lickly have to run some radiator flush product when i get engine running and hope for the best.

but pretty happy with the progress.

So small update,

Purchased some front bilstien coilovers with FD RX7 brake's for the car, so hopefully it should handle semi decent and stop on a dime.

B8OZgNo.jpg

Found an X4 rear diff mount and purchased it to see how far off it would be from fitting.

Here is picture vs MA61 mount

eoow8rl.jpg

Mount wise it looks like just some threaded bungs welded in and it would fix the issue, however not 100% sure as the old custom welded in mount was still in place. so i will remove that and have a fresh look when i have some time.

Also got a delivery of the water pump and other little bit's, so i can finally finish the engine and put it all together ready to drop in.

Here is a random picture of my two bulldogs lol

Been sometime between update's

Nothing crazy has happened, purchased some MX62 Cressida seats to fit in. rear fit fine front need modifications but I have not looked into it too much if rails can be swapped etc.

The engine is almost finished just waiting for some sensors, belt. then I got to work out how I will do DBW

Australia is currently in lockdown due to COVID and with prices of postage on some items due to these lockdowns, I have slowed right down on it.

But is that mustard? @ROBAPHENT 🤣🤣🤣

Glad you'll be posting some updates.  I need inspiration to keep moving forward on my wagon.  It's been getting me depressed with all the brake issues.  But at least it's running now.

Yeah, I will be doing updates.

even created a little section on my blog/website for all the builds.  but yeah not much is happening due to COVID here in VIC, we have gone to full lockdown cant leave postcode and you need to wear a mask.

I use to focus a bit on all three builds so progress was slow.

Binchicken has widebody and blackbirds Yamaha front lip getting replicated to run on the street.
Blackbird is awaiting me to finish widebody, rear doors, boot and bonnet.
Hizoku just got engine mounts half sorted i have changed it from the traditional rubber mount to engine mount to an engine to bush to mount if that makes sense?  (See below)

2jz-engine-mount-kit-599x525.jpg

the 2JZ digital Crank and Cam sensors came yesterday so that leaves installing DBW and working out how I will do air intake temp sensors left really. so I hope next month I will be able to have the engine completed and start working on the placement of how it will all fit in.

If gibbs gets a sticker then I need a sticker for sure.  I definitely need a slap for my collection.

I also need more lowdown for my wagon so I can justify a chinspo.

I just got a package today that my MIL sent from Japan exactly three months ago.  So I guess packages are moving again?  We can only hope.

Forgot to add, I have purchased about 8 of these weld in inserts. had them made to suit standard Toyota thread this will allow me to make the cross member on the rear, as well as the AE86 castor arm mounts bolt in factory looking.

The whole front end should be AE86 other than custom LCA (AE86 extended maybe 3-35mm/ inch and half-ish) and of course, some form of longer rack ends.

I will do better write ups once everything has arrived and i can start doing more detailed posts

As for stickers, if you want some just PM me your address and i will send you some :)

You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.  PM Sent.

Also looking forward to that info on the AE86 front end.  I'm still trying to decide what I want to do to piece my front end together.

One of the best looking GE's.  My dick's getting a bit soft though, going to need a pic of it with headers mocked up

Not made yet, will be equal length 6 - 1 setup I think. maybe 3 - 2

I need to get the car rolling first and also fix the steering column. I have a bit of movement I would like to remove.

Currently running a 3-2 setup on my wagon with a factory crown header.  I searched all over for another 2J that was setup that way and couldn't find one.  Only BMWs and old Jags.  Sounds pretty gnarly though.

We are currently in a hard 6 week lockdown, shops are closed other then essential etc. so other then buying on line all work has stopped and I'm limited to a 5km radius of my house.

I wanted to go there but i can't take the risk for that price, with my car being RHD, X3 and custom steering I'm just better of going my own route.

Holy crap, locking y'all down like that this late in the game? Is it that bad?  Considering how bad things are this side of the pond with no lockdown it's looking a little stupid here.

I meant that mine is 3 - 2, but it's divorced all the way out the back.  That was the part I didn't see on any other 2JZ powered cars.  I'm sure you probably saw photos though while Kyle was fabbing it up.  We just blessed that the crown header cleared the idler arm.  Because I thought for sure I was going to have to buy a new header.  And the one you linked was one of the ones I looked at.  That and CX Racing.  The price of the CX Racing was mind blowing considering I always thought their stuff was cheap.  I hadn't bought any thing from them in like eight years though.

I originally had eBay/China spec headers for this car. as per amazon link

https://www.amazon.com/OBX-Exhaust-Header-TOYOTA-2JZ-GE/dp/B005R4JTAQ

But when i made the move from 4AGE spec ITB to this billet one, i soon sold the headers as there was no way i could put cheap China spec headers on the opposite side of a billet ITB setup. it just looked so out of place.

so yeah now i plan to fork out big dollars to have a propper exhaust made up, equal length to the right length for good performance, i might go 3 - 2 as i would love to have twin exhaust like yours the whole way down and my ECU can run twin wide band o2 sensors. so it makes sense to.

as for lockdown, the 2nd lockdown is shit because all shops are closed and so on, but well worth it as we are only a week in and already see a decline in new cases, while deaths are up they would be a result of past week's infections.

the hardest part is people not understanding the situation, while we have had a full lockdown. people who live week to week or have been effected are saying it is not good, they should have eased into the situation and so on.

but when you think about it, we did try and ease into it. we did well until a couple of selfish people wrecked it for everyone. why this 6 week lockdown might affect people for the 6 week's it is better than doing things at 20-30% for the next 6 months.

Can't agree more, nip it real quick and it's done.  The situation here in Louisiana, in Texas, in Florida, etc could all use some help by just giving it a nice six week pause.  But you know American Freedums and all won't allow that to happen.

#blessed

Philly has been doing well, but yea. I just got back to work. Fitness is the second to last to go back. In person indoor dining still isn't a thing. I wish we'd have been more strict. Get it done and over with and the spikes in the south wouldn't have been as bad. My oldest friend just lost his grandfather (in his 80's living in Florida, "you're not gonna tell me to not go to church") and his grandmother is sick now too. And his mother is in FLA taking care of her. Wash your hands and wear a mask.

Can't wait to see this thing doing burnies.
