Gordo 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2018 Question.... Do CT turbos start going bad right when you buy them, or do they actually have to be installed to start failing ? You might want to wait a week or so, to see if they start leaking oil just sitting there in the box.
brian 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 i’ll know when i install these. the pair in the car now are 27 years old and work just fine, so there’s that.
Demesio 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 Hey @Gordo , I've got about 7 years of driving on my Comp Turbo 6265. Still running strong...
brian 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 oh when he said CT i thought it was Toyota CT, he meant Comp Turbo.
WhoreMouth_Jr 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 Ya you really shoulda put a 20 year old turbo on there 😂 Because those are the only "good" ones. Trust or bust
Gordo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 I meant CT, as in Toyota CT turbo, in light of what Rue went through with his CT repeated rebuilds until he gave up and bought a BW, and all the CT's that have the same short life in the Supra world.
brian 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2018 i should be fine since i never drive the car.

ROBAPHENT 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 probobly because that seems the standard, kid comes and your dreams go.
ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 i'll provide some anecdotal evidence to the contrary: i had a kid, kept all of my projects. they are stalled but not because of the kid, specifically. more because of me.
Lofty 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 Can I have some advice on this? Woman argues that I can keep all my junk. I don't know if finances will speak the same. Not expecting, just probably will be in 3 years.
ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 i will say that the best investment is land. store ALL your projects there, even if they constantly depreciate the property itself should only appreciate in value, assuming the gov't doesn't come calling with eminent domain. that's being abused here, look up "Panther Island" for details. same happened to my grandparents' land when they wanted to build a highway thru it. what you own legally is only yours as far as you're able to defend it
Demesio 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 Grown up responsibilities eventually kick in, and you gotta hope you make enough money to burn into the money pit. Otherwise, you gotta piss in it and walk away.. Brian wont have that problem..
Gibbs 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2019 my kids are 7 and 5 now i havent dropped any projects you just slow down a bit on them. time/money management is all it is

NAC 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2019 I don't even have kids and I had to drop projects. Guess I'm just bad at life...
brian 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2019 working harder > selling shit you love. i feel one of the most important things you can pass down to your kids is your passion. these lifeless zombies these welfare abusers are pumping out have no interests and no hope. they scare the shit out of me and will probably be the undoing of this place. so keeping your car and projects is more nobal and far more important to the wellbeing of your children then selling for a few thousand dollars that will just solve a couple months of problems.
