When it's halfway out........start to giggle

Recommended Posts

Picked up my Chaser this past Friday from Kyle. It's slow as fuck, shocks are blown, tires are a joke, brakes are sketchy as fuck, but the motor is good. Should be reliable enough to get me through until I'm ready to do my swap. Have tons of shit on order right now so it's a waiting game until parts hit my door step. Got a VVTI 2J from a JDM importer. Transmission and coil overs courtesy of Chris. Fixed as best I could the hack job of rolled front fenders that Kyle did. It'll be a couple months before I can do the swap I think so I had the AC fixed because fuck a Texas summer with no AC.

Not as bad as my previous vehicle. Fucking hispanglic decided he wanted to do a front end conversion on his Xterra. Whatever. It's paying for the Chaser so all's well that ends well.

I'm wondering how you are going to fit those 9", 24mm offset rims under an X8 without hacking the fenders?

My 9", 55mm offset barely fit under the back.

Aaron has the same wheels. We put them in my car to test fit. Only thing we noticed was we were gonna have to dial in front camber a bit. Rears seemed good to go.

Jesus, Thems some vintage JIC's.

Who did you get the 2jz through? Always interested to hear how experiences of importers go.

My fronts can fit 9 +10 now and the rear is 10 +25. It will take work to mod the inner bits but it's plenty doable

Hey Gordo... we test fit my 17x9's on Chris's X8 and they looked to be a decent fit with a 225 tire... might need a slight pull. Fitment looked about the same for the Chaser.

We aren't planning on drag racing from a stop... highway pulls should be fun enough... I enjoy hurting Subaru and Evo feelings... and his should be faster than mine

shit, we probably could have fit the 235's im currently running on your wheels in the rear without too much of a problem. the only time i've ever rubbed in the rear was when we had that trans in my trunk and we were driving down what's left of i35 at 80+mph to visit kyle and gordo.

fronts are a different story but then you dont need to do as much because like kyle says they tend to roll themselves.

Got a little bit done over the past few. Bell housing delivered so put that on. Took apart the power steering pump to rework and rebuild. Finished machining the last pieces for my power steering reservoir. My brother machined one of his fuel filter adaptors and he got it put on. Bought the correct intake manifold and throttle body to get rid of the drive by wire shit. Plugged off a few of the vacuum ports I won't be using. Pulled off all the factory turbo shit, all the accessories, and the wiring harness. Gotta give thanks to Gordo for the care package sent. Got a spare set of corner lights, HKS springs for my coilovers, the sleeves for the Supra spherical bearing replacement, a clean box, and drawings for subframe reinforcement piece. Next week will be a good delivery week. Coilover inserts will be here, rear caliper rebuild kit, new battery and battery box, RCA's from Xcessive and the RHD clutch pedal. I'm running out of funds so gotta try to make the last few big purchases while I have the cash then I'll get the little shit as I can.

If you bought an upper plenum just to block off the ISCV you're retarded

If you keep thinking I'm looking for your approval on the way I'm building the car........you're even more retarded. You want the car built a certain way you shouldn't have sold it to me. Just like you think me doing a VVTI 2J is retarded and running a standalone instead of factory ecu with a faggot piggy back is retarded...........don't give a fuck. Whenever you want to run any of your cars against either of mine, let me know.

Spoke with Ciscokids a few weeks ago (don't remember what his name is on here), make a long story short after talking with him and finding out what will work, I have a RHD crossmember slowly on it's way that should make everything bolt on affair when I get the Xcessive mount brackets.

The original upper plenum didn't have an IACV... so..... yea.......

So I guess I'll explain for you... on the 2J... the bolt pattern for the DBW throttle body is different than the non DBW so you can't just swap throttle bodies. The way you get around this is to swap the upper plenum as well. But we would have deleted the IACV regardless... I deleted that shit on every other motor I've done.

The R154 we picked up from Chris had a broken bolt in the shifter housing bullshit... had to drill it out and helicoil but it's fixed

I know. If I were smart I'd buy a haggard piece of shit and either Beams swap it or put one of them v-tach motors in it. But you already seem to have the market cornered on that so I'll stick with what I got.

None of my comments here are directed at you dusty as I know you're not the one orchestrating any of this. It just drive me nuts that this is like the one place that logic escapes your brother. spending three times the amount to make the same power with the same reliability. Didn't know that about the throttle body not bolting on. That's what I get for assuming as the 1j one seemed to bolt right up. But here, this comment is directed at you. If you drive the wheels off this thing on a base tune like your brother does, you're tucking retarded.

Like how a stand alone leads to spun bearings...

Wouldn't have happened with an SAFC thats for sure
