AcidTrip 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2017 Phase 5: Trade my 3.93 mk3 lsd for Okidriftjr's spare 4.3 Welded. Holy fuck is a welded so much better than a LSD! Also the 4.3 made the car feel more responsive. Fixed my fender harness i cut up on accident when i cut out my battery tray. Went to English Racing's Dyno day. Dyno'd my stock vvti 1j @ 12lbs with basic bolt-ons (intake, FMIC, Full 3" exhaust, etc...) 304/296 A few months later my friends talked me into driving parc fest. I borrowed my friends rear coils and headed out to parc fest. Only 2 good pics i got that day: I then started getting cocky and started ignoring my friends advice to stay away from the back corner. Came in too fast tried to correct, couldn't, slammed the brakes and slid through he blackberry bushes and off the hill & flipped my bitch. I made it onto the FormulaDerp Instagram and the whole nine yards. RIP ME Hard pose with some of my nor cal friends Meme'd Day after Pic. She still ran and drove fine. Damage wasn't that bad. All i needed was a windshield, new tension rod bushings & fenders. Fixed the roof the best i could with a portapower and my legs. Xcessive tension rod bushings Windshield install Bought BC BR Extreme lows 14k/10k from FD Driver: Mats Baribeau Scooped up some Enkei Tenjin's (17x9+35 & 18x9.5+18) off craigslist for $400 with tires. (Fun fact: They came off a mk4 supra in Bend, OR) I had the rears mounted and was waiting on 20mm spacers for the fronts. Finally got my 20mm spacers in the mail and mounted the fronts with brand new Yokohama S Drives. Also Found a pair of pearl white fenders for $90 on a local drifting facebook page. Blocked off the sun roof with rivets and silicone. My most recent pick of me Hard parked at Firestone and they said i was too low to align even on their drive on rack. (I had lifetime alignments and they couldn't align me so they refunded me fully for it.) Also enjoy a meme of me and my friend as JZus Missionaries. I have a couple vids of me fucking around in the snow this weekend. I'll have to figure out how to upload videos.

battleaxe 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2017 I think he has the right idea about all this. Drift cars, especially when new to the sport, makes more sense to make it run and drive and be mostly straight, than fix and repaint everything each event. That's a good way to kill your enjoyment of it. Unless you like fixing your car every weekend because you hit a bush. I like the way you posted when you were done all this, way more enjoyable. Also glad you found there's no need to colour everything rainbow. I like it. Also glad you haven't given up. Cressida's, jz AND drifting, it's the trifecta for giving up. 95% chance. ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2017 there are a lot of parts out there you might find to be "in stock" until you try to order them. start hoarding cars as parts donors now if you intend to keep playing with cressidas for another 5 years.
Gordo 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 I know I will regret scrapping two of them........... And your right Chris. Can't count how many things that after running down the part number, and ordering from people who showed it to be an available option, only to get the "no longer available" 'dear john' letter. ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 actually we should have started 5 years ago when rue and i had our pick of x8s and x7s and even a couple x6s at 4 or 5 of the local yards. now theyre gone forever.
AcidTrip 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2017 $914 for a roof skin or i could just buy a whole x8 on craigslist for 500-1k. Also i'm a X8 color racist. Pearl white, White or Black. Any other color X8 can lick my asshole. my goal is to practice in this chassis and buy another white or preferably black x8 and cage it and build it nice. But yeah when i first bought my x8 there were like 4 pearl white x8's in the same local junkyard, now i cant find one in any junkyard.
Tbone 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 Lol@ buying a black X8.Good luck with finding a unicorn. Factory black x83's no longer exist and you probably have better chances winning the powerball lottery than finding one that someone has repainted. If you can get a decent price on a Kei flow front bumper through lucas or whatever I would jump on it if i was you.Always good to have spare bumpers imo,and anything will look better than an accord bumper. Y0SH 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 I think I've only ever seen 2 black x8s, and they've both been on jzxproject over the ten years I've been on here.
Ricans Cressida 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2017 there is a factory one that has been driving around my town waiting for it to pop up on craigslist....
battleaxe 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2017 theres a gold star cressida, 2jzge with advan sa3r's, it looks to be factory black. never seen one in person but man does it intrigue me. x8s had a lot of interesting factory colours, we got a few grey purple like mine and those off green colours, or that was kouki x7? we got a lot of white and maroon ones here. most of the old ppl that drive them, drive them right to the wreckers who then dont sell them as a whole and end of cubing the whole car because NO ONE buys parts for them let alone for their dumb prices.
