Curse of the Cressida

Recommended Posts

Now a 2rz, from 03/04 with COP, that sounds cool. Use same trans/clutch setup, they hold power, and I always felt there must be a way to run one on caldina factory management for boost if you could do it cheaper than megashart.

The 2RZ is an option as well. 2 friends locally are doing turbo 2RZ's on their corollas. everything with them is custom, all very cool stuff, lots of money to get to that point. I have an SR in my s13 and have a bunch of parts and I would leave it stock with bolt ons. i have a ton of spare parts and could do it for a lot less than a 2RZ. Id be taking the SR out of my s13 and put another SR in the s13 because i have all the stuff to build one. the 7.5 diff and axles and all that stuff explodes with 250lbfts. so a stock SR is a decent amount of boogy for this rust bucket. all the cooling parts would be within the engine bay even and the motor will be far back. the cressida is what im focusing the JZ on as all JZ parts are a lot of money for no reason here in canada, and our dollar has been shit for a few years now to go to anywhere but Japan for parts.

Beams has no guts and theyre as much as an SR WITH a transmission.

2RZ is all custom

NA 2J is same power and torque as a SR Turbo

already have a 1JZ and a trans alone is 700-1k here lol

putting any money into the M motors is a waste of time as im not a machinist or a mechanic t hat takes apart motors every 10k kms

the 5M will be in there til it dies. i have no intention of killing it for no reason and it does burnouts currently, but its the worst 5M as its a 82, low comp, specific to the year parts and might as well be carb'd

bolt on some RAS.

supras are ok, i mean at least we will know what youve got on it if you ever decide to part it. going out on a limb and saying the mk2 is prob the "best" one to have from the ownership perspective because you associate with far fewer faggy fags than you would for the later generations.

That rear end build looks like fun.. Going to be doing something similar to my 1985 Celica GTS relatively soon. Are you counting on the spacers to raise the subframe enough to fix the camber issues with these cars? Or are you going to relocate the inner LCA mounts to reduce camber even more?

I actually really dig these supras, I want one bad. 2rz is fucking sick 3rz is specially sick! More pricey but 2.7 4 cyl is sick. It fucking moved my 4Runner non turbo.

RAS?

I want more camber.. sort of, so I can clear the rear wats. I have to mod the flares a little bit to get some more clearance.

They still pop off at less rpm that my lowly 7M turns.......

I figured that's what you meant by RAS.
I don't daily my cars so I put minimal mileage on them.
I don't sell or part my cars, I tend to destroy them and then thats it. Had it for 3 yrs now and my busted looking s13 for 10 now. Once this thing is back together I'll be working on the jzx.

its not crazy, its just a bad move in today's market unless you stumble upon an unmolested cheap one (like the old fucker driving the zenki coupe i see on my way to work every morning) pr you have fuckoff money and space to stockpile your investment.

I made a shit ton on mine... sold it the first time to a friend of a friend... made a small profit.

Got a letter in the mail 2 years later saying my car had been impounded... apparently the dude-bro never put the car in his name. I called him up and asked what the fuck...

He said he couldn't do anything with it... paid $400 to get it out of the impound, replaced the then rod knocking single cam motor for under $300... immediately sold it back off for $2700

I swear I read through everything, but are those rear LCA mods just to lower the shock mount? Curious what you got cookin there

I use a full s13 coilover set. I modded the rear to have a tower and the LCA to actually have a pick up. Factory is like x7, separate shock and spring, the LCA pick up from factory was a m12? Stud and nut. With the dropped pick up, it has full sweep and the coilover has a tiny sleeve pressed in, into stances factory bushing to be snug with he new bolt. The rear can go really low, I can raise it a good 2inches from where I have it iirc. I haven't tried. We mocked it up with the height set to the middle with spring snug. No bottoming out, full stroke

update on supra. ill be done this soon, then i can go back to the cressida, inside, make it "CQQL"

BC Works finished the subframe risers the other day. I put them in yesterday night and then I finished painting them today, then assembled the entire system. Going to install it tomorrow, should have the whole car pretty much done by the end of next weekend.
knocked off the 'vibration dampener' excess weights on the side while i was painting it

i want camber, to fit my 10.5 wats. they barely clear as it is. this car isn't necessarily about 'function'

this thing is more about 'looks'
