There are a lot of things motivating this. The whole reason this got done when it did and not like 2 years down the road was Finalbout. Even before Finalbout it was hard to imagine having it afterwards because of this. This whole thing caused me a lot of stress so it's kind of my personal enemy at this point.

 

I don't know what the fuck I wanna do after this but if the money comes along it's gone. I know I won't miss it.

Never said I wasn't nuts But seriously, I've got a lot of stuff going on you guys don't really know about. My home life is a fucking mess so any car stress I go through is amplified ten fold. The only thing I can seem to do correctly is make wire harnesses.

 

I guess if I don't get any offers it'll sit here until I can figure out what to do with it. I'm not going to just junk it or something (but I have thought about it).

ill issue a collective get your shit together and take my own advice: got a reality check from the city. they gave me 30 days to move my non op cars out of the driveway. the thought of selling crossed my mind for exactly .06 seconds. my circumstances might not be the same, but theyre probably pretty close to being as frustrating. the worst part is, no matter what i know the smart thing to do would be to get a single reliable and practical daily or at least focus on one of my cars at a time. but its not who i am or who i want to be.

 

the one thing i noticed is that despite all the work and skill going into this build from xm and you, you never really seemed to enjoy or appreciate the platform as much as you did with your x8. so maybe this was never meant to be in the first place. your build thread can be brought back by mod/admin staff if you change your mind about it.

^youre right man. I don't appreciate the pltform because it's a SHITTY platform. Even calling it a platform is giving it too much credit. Rich and I had to get all FSAE on the thing just to make it work and I have zero fab skills so I pretty much had to rely on him.

It was a prime example of how to think outside the box, and over come problems.

I've been telling people for years that if they don't like a solid axle chassis, to change it.

But seldom have I seen anyone actually do it. And your's was a prime example, that wasn't someone outside of the import realm showing a xke jag rear under a 32 ford.

 

Too many people think the only way to build a car is to see what someone is already selling for it.

Too little real inovation (besides swim's, which were usually just a brick short of a load, on a corner that showed).

If it wasn't for Rue, and a few others, this would be a very boring place.

dang, i have to admit that the only reason i was checking back with this forum was your car. as i had a long time goal of a 3s in my 75 corolla reacently sold it all. Still have 2 JZ powered cars no X chassis. You guys need to cheer up or somthing i feel like a loser reading about this. +1 for not deleting your build.

Mark, I know where you are coming from, both with that statement, and the whole thread.

Years ago, I bought a harley dirt bike, just to appease the guy I was working for (he owned the Harley shop I was working for).

After I left that shop to start my own, there was no way in hell to sell that thing for what it was worth, even after I invested lots of time, $$, to develop it into front runner.

I ended up dumping it years later for $200, just to get rid of it, and the dumb ass that bought it fucked it up as soon as he got it home, and it never run again.

It pisses me off to this day. After all the work I put into that damn odd-ball bike, and all the good finishes I had with it.

On top of that, today those bike bring thousands.

 

Best way I can think of getting rid of it, is to list it on eBay, as a incomplete pro build drift car.

(parts get nailed less of apercentage by eBay, than a complete car)

Take a picture of it without the wheels, then put into the text that you have the wheels, and to contact you if they want them.

Then put in lots of pictures of all the cool shit you've put into the build, and some action shots.

When someone contacts you about the wheels, just say, you will throw them in if they buy the car.

 

Put it up there for $7500, and let people low-ball you down a little.

It will go after a few listings, and most likely somewhere far, far away.

If you want to go that way, call me, and I can go over some of the details of using eBay, without having problems.

 

Or.......

Part it off, and give the shell to a farmer to raise chickens in.
