Something Clever (VVti 1jz into mx83)

Recommended Posts

Sooooo sup Guys.....

I'm Dirty,

I've been around for a while just have been kinda stagnate.

I bought my X8 almost 2 years ago and have done very little, to be honest more has been done in the last week then in the last 2 years.

About a year ago JIC coilovers installed and sitting on VSKF's

IMG_0371_zpse3a8f57c.jpg

I made a few mistakes in the first month of owning this car and its caused all the time to be wasted.

Listing because I want to.

1.Got the car as a future daily but was driving an rx7 project car already.

2.I bought some Fucking baller wheels (although for a good price IMO)

3.I didnt hop on the first affordable NA 2j I came across (which was my original plan)

4. I picked up some coilovers and they were a project at that.

So now after all this time and attempting to sell my Cressida and/or the coilovers I did the sensiable thing and sold my perfectly running mostly finished Rx7 and got this

The importer tells me its a jzx100 motor theres a sticker on the harness that says 1998

Obviously its low miles (supposedly)

and my plan is to do serpentine belt and some hoses and shove it into my Cressida with the auto...

money is going to be tight on this build and sacrifices are going to made to get it initially running quickly but Im going to try not to cut corners

I wanted to start on the car this weekend but we had un-characteristic rain in LA

So I got started today.

2015-07-21%2019.21.54_zpsnauzzczg.jpg

Started plumbing while I wait for the harness to get finished and I realized how much I don't know about the 1j there are lines I'm unsure about vacuum lines from the car I dont know where to hook up on this motor but I have a plan for most things and I'll just save the unknown for last.

Short on funds so I'm trying to reuse Everything

I got both factory 1jz heater hoses to fit.

Going to place a fuel filter between factory fuel lines (car and cut 1j)

They cut the power steering metal line on pump end so I decided to go AN on that.(not 100% on this)

Figured out brake booster connection is that ugly banjo bolt at the back of intake manifold (rhd threw me off)

I'm just listing for future reference and for the super newbs.

Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Pics of how you did the heater hoses? I'm thinking about cutting the 90 off the end of the driver side pipe to get it to line up better with the pipe on the firewall.

I will when I get home but don't forget my engine is jzx100 so hoses could be different

Driver Side is slightly bent but not pinched it was a hair to tall from factory

Also I haven't tested them under pressure so ya

You do the heater hose just like the 7m one use to go. it's really simple and ez of the hose that came with your motor is in decent shape you can reuse it.

Shouldn't be a try if you don't fuck up your part.

I'm moving north tonight so there may not be much going on till I find a new job.

thanks man,

Hey guys so I did the mk4 throttle cable cause I had read a few places that it fit but, then once I installed it its pretty loose and saw even more places that its to long :hammer:

is there some way to adjust it? or should I just sell it to the mk3 guys? it was kinda expensive

They can be shortened... pop off the inside bracket and cut that down without cutting the wire. Then I think you need a crip on end you can get from home depot. Just cut down the sleeving until that fits then cut the wire when its all sitting how you want, put all the oem stuff back on and crimp the end on. Haven't done it in a little while and I got a bad memory so good luck.

Man since moving up north I've done fuck all to the car. Could really use some shit talkin.

All I've done so far is pick up some non-essentials.14547898333851490596800_zpsyslflmpu.jpg20160206_120654_zpsj7o1dzch.jpg

Wheels were an impulse trade cause I missed my rezax's and I spent cash saved for other parts of the car.

But they definitely re-ignited my love for the car.

i feel like 99% of people buy blitz bov's thinking they all make compressor surge noises after youtube-ing them on 1jz's and listen to all the dumbasses with them hooked up wrong thinking they sound super cool.

What the fuck are you implying BitchCity? I don't know know anything? I picked up an outdated bov because of sound? Maybe I should have picked up a greddy or hks? Or Chinese shit knock off like you like?

Your a fucking idiot I literally picked it up for its looks and im unashamed if you actually looked at my 1 page build so far you would see my setup completely stock and doesn't "need" this.

But 99% of you new guys are tools so you probably cant read go back to your intro and your bolt ons and your bought not built car

Lol standalone? Rue why mess with something Toyota made that works "perfect"
