Still can't believe I did that to this car. At least it doesn't look like the shell has 295,000 miles on it anymore.

Also. I decided I didn't hate myself enough. And I scrapped my parts car so I was down to only one Cressida. I had a chance to buy back from my friend the first X I had about five years ago. He put 50,000 miles on the thing and I'm pretty sure did nothing except change the oil. Oh I guess there's a ruined LSD in it now so that's cool I guess. Auto trans is fucked. Power steering pump feels like manual steering. And he got rear ended the week before I got it back so that's irritating. It's like having a daughter graduating college and moving back home after she's become a coed cum rag.

He was originally going to put a W58 in it, so at least I got that with it. I told him which one to get, but then he went and bought this instead:

I ordered most of the swap shit already. I wonder how long it will take me to shatter it. Still need to get a clutch, driveshaft, and a shifter.

Update:

 

-X7 sucks and I hate it

 

-5 speed swap works

 

-Permanently ruined hood

 

-pulled out smashed rear until I stopped caring

 

-welded gay Volvo-looking exhaust pipe on the end of the muffler because my friend who used to own the car hates it

 

-Original fuel tank was rotted to shit so I threw the tank from my X8 parts car in it. No idea if the tank itself is the same but it fits almost perfectly. Had to slide one of the straps over half an inch. The filler neck is a bit different so I cut it and matched it to the top half of the X7 neck with a silicone coupler while keeping the filler neck baffling mostly in tact. Fills no problem.

 

-ordering coilovers soon

Gordo, this was the cheapo solution to the shifter dowels. held a nut against them and filled them with a weld:

I dunno if I'm about to go that far in again on this one, it's rotted in some shitty places. The area around the sunroof is pretty bad, four nice matching mud flap holes, and there's a hole in the passenger A-pillar (wtf?) that leaks onto the floor area when it rains. Like fuck that. Fuck a job.

Yep HKS FCD. Shit works okay for now, for now being the duration of my owning the car since I'll never get around to putting a standalone in it.

 

 

A while back on here I saw a blue X8 with Ford Taurus rocker panel covers on it. I like the look of them a lot, and they don't stick out lower than my front lip like the IS vertex skirts do. And they fit great since I have Crown Victoria rockers welded to my car and they're a similar shape; I didn't trim shit.

In X7 land my 87 is being a huge pain in my cock. Fuel pump died right after I put the tank in, and the transmission has been in and out several times now for various bullshit. Whoever assembled my RAM throwout bearing (probably without lube) took two huge gashes out of one of the O-rings. Then the spacing I was supposed to use for the bearing mount wasn't enough and was bottoming out the bearing before the clutch disengaged. Then I realized I'm retarded and I also need a 3/4 in clutch master for the RAM bearing. So I used an FJ60 3/4 master and spaced it off the firewall 1/2 inch so the pedal isn't stuffed up into the dash. No pics. The next fucking media you get of this car is a Burnout 3 replay of it rolling into four lanes of I-95.
