ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 your car would look great with the s13 light blue and gray scheme:
RickyFromThePark 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 That^ would look tits on this thing. Especially with the subtle oem style aero. Fuck nissans but that color scheme looks damn good on those.
Urrik 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 Yeah that's cool too. I thought I saw something similar on UCF20s. Not sure if I'd like a lighter, silvery color as much though. I've been looking at LS400 two tones, and I like this one the best: My car has one of the uglier combinations. Literally every surface inside and out on this car is a shade of blue And once again I'm drawn to this for some reason
RickyFromThePark 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 I dig it. Edit: Christ how many toyotas do you own
ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted October 15, 2015 the two tone maroon on ucf10s kills me every time someone who was a member here years ago had the white/gray 2 tone scheme on their x8. believe they were out of fl and sold the car on egay.
bradlee 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2015 this one? pete/bob (ropadopa) at GRIP built that car. i think it ended up in NY.
ChriSOL 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2015 ^ that's the one i was thinking about. since ropadopa is back, maybe he can share some better pics to give you an idea of what a x81/lexus style 2 tone would look like on an x83 body.

ropadopa 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2015 Liking the looks of your car, I love the two tone stuff put keep in mind im kinda old. I rocked this which was the same as your example, these colors change allot i think its called Toupe or somthing like that it can go from not looking 2 tone to major two toned the color went from brown to having a pink hugh , I think it looks only good with silver colored wheels definitly classy. The two tone on my Cresta was rad dont really have great pictures of it in the light fuckin nissan colors are sweet love this and was trying for this on the one Bradlee posted but didnt quite get it
ropadopa 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2015 It seems that toyota really has it figured out, their two tones flop nice , some times the blend and sometimes they have contrast

Urrik 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2015 All of those rule. And yeah that LS400 two tone gray has more of a brown hue than I expected. I think a gray with more of a bluish hue would match my wheels and interior better. That white/gray Cressida looks pretty damn good. I think a darker shade on the bottom would suit my flares better, like the gray on those black X81's. And as much as I'd love black, it's a super fucking pain in the balls color that I don't want to deal with again.
ropadopa 0 Report post Posted October 17, 2015 I think if you give it a darker color it will contrast too much some how Toyota pulls off 2 different colors that match.
Urrik 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2015 I know what you mean, for some reason I like that contrast. It's almost like I want to treat the entire bottom half of the car as "trim" and only the top half as the painted body. I might just end up with an OEM combo. Fuck it, I have plenty of time to make up my mind
Urrik 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 I was bored this past winter, so I made a 1.5 using an SC300 block. Now that I have more shit on my plate, I wish I was bored again. Went back together a lot slower. "Finished" it right around when I graduated a couple weeks ago. This was also an opportunity to do a few things I've needed for a while; oil cooler, Fluidampr, AFPR, new steering rack with XM bushings, etc. Ruefilter bracket: I bought a Tial MV-whatever and reconsidered my wastegate routing (I should reconsider my mortality) And in case you were wondering, it still looks retarded: We're setting up a booth to do a few cars this summer, and mine is on the list. 80% decided on a color. Since we're ordering Benz colors, I was going to do 755, Steel Gray:

Gordo 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 With you not posting for a long time, I had to go back and re-read the story of Lazarus rising from the grave. Nice save...... Like I said, I wouldn't have put that much into saving it, I'd rather waste my time on keeping a 7M running. To each their own hell.......
Urrik 0 Report post Posted June 1, 2016 This entire car is one big sunk cost fallacy. Only way out is a race to the bottom. Turbo and manifold are from a Driftmotion kit. So Chinese and Chineser. Turbo is a 6262 with a .70 exhaust and is still pretty lazy even with the N/A block. Smokes like a chimney.
