I love this car! Happened across your IG account and should have figured you were on here. The door handles are a great touch.

what ever happened to this car?
lucas replied to Foompla's topic in Cressida Mark II Chaser Cresta Verossa IS Altezza
Just gonna bump this, nobody has died yet. That car morphed into this (and I really miss the 19" RP03s): Then a few 1uz's blew up. I got, what I thought was going to be, a good deal on an LS build option so I parked the car for a bit. In the meantime the old X8 sat like this. For a long time. The whole LS thing unfortunately went sideways and I lost a lot of interest in the X8 and worked on other projects instead. A 280z got restored and my UZ powered X3 was built. Recently I picked up another good condition X8, stripped old blue of everything of value, swapped it to the new car or put it in storage, and sold the shell to an acquaintance. who in turn did a chassis swap with his built X8 and now the blue car is back on track like nothing happened with twice the HP as before. I'm hoping to start another thread as I can make progress on my new X8 but that will be slow to come. Covid has cut off the ability to work other than what can be accomplished in my driveway a day at a time, but at least I can still get things done. -
If you're looking to add a drift brake to your MX83 Cressida, we've got a pretty simple way to do it and be able to retain the factory parking brake if you want. Our kit does not require removal of the backing plate or dust shield that locates the drum parking brake but you can remove it if you want without affecting the drift brake mounting. We've based our billet aluminum bracket kit around a Honda front caliper that is commonly available at parts yards and has a wider pad area then the comonly used 300Z rear caliper, (see Honda application info below). The smaller mounting size of the Honda caliper allows us to fit it in between the parking brake cable and the top of the suspension, just trim the dust shield, press out a stud and bolt the hardware together. No need to remove the wheel hub or fight with cutting off the entire dust shield/backing plate and parking brake cable. We supply all the necessary bolting hardware for the bracket and the caliper as well as a "weld on" mounting tab for the calipers flexible brake line for an OEM type install. Just add your master cylinder and some hard lines. Brake Calipers Not Included! You must supply the Honda brake calipers from an '84 to - '87 economy model such as a Civic HF 1.3L. The calipers must have a bolt center line mounting distance of 5 1/2" (see the third picture). If you source your calipers from a parts yard, you can also get the pads and the flex brake line with the spring mounting clip where the flex line will mount to the body. Price: $ 165.00 / pair ------------------------> MX83 Drift Caliper Bracket

lol Yeah, I should just stick to Chevy stuff in this country. I can get a set off YJA, but that's not really a route I want to take.

I'd say shoot a picture and a question to Rich. Maybe something can be done/figured out/suggested? That part is for the JZ which is known to pitch belts at higher horsepower but currently the need hasn't come up for the UZ.

So your supercharger belt is slapping or your serpentine belt is slapping?

The drop vents I have mount so the vent opening is between the radiator and the engine. Hot air escapes but your motor is not exposed. You can mount them anywhere but that is where they are intended to go. Couldn't find any better pictures but these should give you an idea.

bumping this thread. Picked up more pieces from the glass shop. Currently have 2 full kits on the shelf. Also redid the first post because of missing images.
