  1. Both designs are similar, this one is for a different sized turbo and overall power goal and doesn't require the stepped runners and the extra volume and complexity of the 1.25" pipe to 1.5" pipe. I do overcomplicate things. I should stop but I enjoy the process of building bespoke items. Needing to think about it as a concept, put it on paper, revise to make it something you can actually build and then building it. New skills form when experimenting, your ability to turn new ideas into a product increases every time you practice and aside from making your personal projects drag on the personal projects are the best place to experiment with new ideas. I have aligned my sights on getting the car back up and functional though. Its been long enough playing I would like to drive some more. The parts hoard is getting large and I just need to put it all together now.
  2. Lofty, its an OG. They will mention it if they ever finish their car. or not...
  3. I guess you missed the part where I mentioned it wont be exactly the same. ... ... ... you quoted it, so I guess its more of an apprehension thing.
  4. in case I didn't make it obvious, I made money on selling it being that I build manifolds...to sell.
  5. Picked up an mr2 brake booster. Had stainless -6an weld fitting made for brake booster. Machinist likes hanging out, so we made this up sunday night. (not pictured) Welded stainless fitting to brake booster. (not pictured) need to install and then i can finish the intake manifold. Wasn't happy with aesthetics of thin wall tube for manifold, put it in storage. Concentric fitting in 1" to 1.25" pipe bought for weird pipe size of 1jz vvti ports for turbo manifold. Concentric fitting shortened to fit 30mm port diameter and cut the flat transition off the large end. Collector cut. Need to rebuild the manifold I just sold but in entirely 1.25 because no 800hp goals on this small turbo. Self imposed deadline for both manifolds to be finished is December 25, with all of the other work I am doing (a Miata manifold and downpipe plus a VW manifold, downpipe, intercooler piping) Wiring connectors have arrived from Mark @ Panic, a few sensors and connectors came in from Ballenger motorsports, almost fully equipped to get the wiring layout confirmed and order the wire itself. Where do you guys mount your ECU's? When I took the stock one out it was tucked up on the dash support bar but not mounted to anything. I am going to be using the LINK Thunder which has a 3 axis accelerometer so I am thinking if I could get it close to the center of the car that would be preferable but its a pretty big ECU and to get anything meaningful out of the accelerometer i will need to solid mount it.
  6. 50psi at wot? You running 10psi boost at wot too?

Exhaust Manifold flanges. 3/8" 304 Stainless

Will modify original post. China hurts but there will always be a market for people who want more than bare minimum. I never bother trying to market for that crowd and generally I don't want to deal with the people who build a car full of China. There are good guys that do it but it's mostly people who are difficult and want you to work for free.
  10. Don't worry about it man. you seem triggered, its Friday, you should slow it down.

you mad, but good for you. I hope you made it worthwhile importing and selling.... I know you mention over the last few years that if you do something you had better make it worthwhile. Im no different. Price does vary, but because of shipping. Ever ship something internationally? I know you have. its suprising sometimes what the rates are - remember when you paid more than you thought shipping me something? That's why I don't post most prices... im not in the market to sell things, put in effort, stock them and then make $0 or less. The flanges themselves are $100usd plus the shipping amount. You cant find them cheaper unless you cut up a used china manifold and then you still have a shitty china flange still and its probably an odd alloy that only china is able to fuck up that badly.

Was going to ask you the same thing.
  13. I could post progress, but its not substantial enough to warrant a real update. Working on all of this at once: -intercooler mount/end-tanks -A/C condenser mount -rad mount/end tank mods -swirl pot finishing -turbo manifold -intake manifold -non-standard flanges for my exhaust build to come (haters gonna love it) Ordered a bunch of electronics stuff to get rolling on the engine loom All the while, I am doing intercooler piping on a Subaru, building manifolds for Miata, building a hotside setup for a VW Golf MK4 that's been converted AWD. There is a lot I don't share here. Oh right, I have a day job and a family too....

your basically comparing journal bearing versions of a 3071R and a 3076R based on the "mine/his" labeled specs. I don't think you will go wrong with the larger one on a 3.0
  15. I have made moves to get it back together, I just don't post them here.

yep. the old stance coils didn't have bearings in them for spring rotation. just the pillowball at the top hat which didn't rotate the spring and would bind up when loaded. the needle bearing spring seat really helped my s13 with stances ~10-12 years ago.
  17. Hey guys, I've been through 3 proof-of-concept variants of my coil bracket and have finally honed in the design enough to list them for sale. The What The coil bracket mounts to the valve cover via the 6x m6 holes for the stock coil cover and holds 6 IGN1A smart coils. Included is the CNC bracket itself, the fasteners required to mount the bracket to the valve cover and the coils to the bracket. The bracket is a brushed aluminum finish and the fasteners are m6 stainless buttonhead. The bracket is designed to fit with the OEM timing cover but requires modifications to the OEM cover to fit. The coils and plug wires are not included. The Why These coils are extremely powerful and have internal ignitors which allow for large plug gaps at high cylinder pressures without spark blowout. Price for the bracket and hardware is $125 plus actual shipping. DM or email hellafabrication@gmail.com These are in stock and ready to ship. 1jz VVTi IGN1A Coil Bracket Kit by HellaFab Fabrication, on Flickr 1jz VVTi IGN1A Coil Bracket Kit by HellaFab Fabrication, on Flickr 1jz VVTi IGN1A Coil Bracket Kit by HellaFab Fabrication, on Flickr

Coil Brackets - IGN1A coils to 1jz VVTi

Real coils don't have any issue. if you buy $15 ebay ignition coils im sure you will have a problem regardless of the application. If you can provide links to the people reporting issues that would be great.. otherwise im going to go with you haven't heard of them and are trying to keep face. Since literally every post I make you are the first one to pipe in with your vague attempts to slander.

Link me to the issues with them, your confused. All of the issues are with the LQ9 coil issues which these are not. The intake manifold hasn't been touched. Ive been working on projects for other people, these brackets included.
  22. They probably notice this website is just for the nonfunctional alcoholics and social degenerates and don't bother returning.
  23. ever figure out what happened with the bov?
  24. you say that, but if you break down each runner they all have roughly the same profile and roughly the same total angle. there is 3x90 degree elbows on each runner. ive seen much worse- especially when people try to add length to a runner to make it equal length like those scooter exhausts you posted which does absolutely nothing for your performance even though its now equal length. Here is what im working on now to give your A.D.D something to attach to.
