It's been a while, but I'm still driving the x8. I painted it Lambo Grey, built a new harness from scratch, and converted to E85. Currently making 542whp and a whopping 508 ft lbs at 18 psi.

Quest for a poor mans 2jz

Are you running GE pistons and GTE HG in your 1.5J? If so compression is getting up there and pulling fuel with the SAFC will advance the timing further. If you sold the jzx100 ecu, MAF sensor, and used the piggyback money you could go standalone and not worry about it blowing up or not running right. https://xcessivemanufacturing.com/monsoon.html

It should run on the 1J ecu without problems. MAF is actually on your side here, it should fuel the extra displacement accordingly not like a MAP setup that will run leaner if you add displacement. If you do decide to go standalone Link is awesome and easy to use. Okidriftjr and I are pretty familiar with Link if you have any questions

Junkyard JZ looked pretty nasty on the outside but amazing inside. Got everything finished up. Runs great and picked up a bunch of low end power.

Broke a ringland on number 6 after a wastegate spring mishap Car still ran fine but felt a little off. Bought a 2jzge vvti from the junkyard, shows up monday. Picked up gte pistons and rods, BC springs and retainers, and ACL rod bearings. Dropping the head off for a resurface and valve grind. Using an NA headgasket to maintain proper quench. Should be a ripper.

Nah it's an ebay 84mm throttle body with a 1j tps. I'll try to get some antilag vids soon. Maybe do a burnout or something.

Camry cable, 94 4 cyl. It's just barely long enough

Got a Link storm g4+ ecu. I've installed and tuned three now and they're really versatile, capable, and easy to use. Got an S360 in a trade and put in Precision 680cc injectors. Switched to a GM 3 bar map after this pic. No dyno yet but it feels better than ever and loves turning 8000. Setup rally style antilag with the Link. Feeding the IACV from the intercooler pipe on liftoff. It's wild Bimarco Grip seat. It's on the large side but it's pretty nice

    Nice job

Pin 7 on B3 is upstream of the neutral start switch so that wire should have power whenever you turn the ignition to crank. The next thing I would do is pull the starter relay and test for power coming in to the switch and coil terminals of the relay and ground on the other (red wire) side of the relay coil

Downsized to a BW s257sxe. Went with a 1.0 twin scroll turbine housing hoping to still make 500whp with good response. No dyno yet but it doesn't feel like it really lost any power. Effortlessly pulls 3rd gear around the back of PARC with 3.91's. 17 psi at 3500rpm Next mods are adjustable rear arms and a cage.

So if you've grounded the red wire, the starter relay is good, and you have no power at B3, you have an open somewhere down the +12V side. Go down the line checking for power to pinpoint it. I'm having trouble embedding images so I'll link up the EWD: http://imageshack.com/i/pn4QTTtYj http://imageshack.com/i/pmME8qhMj

    Turbo kid.

Don't do the open .88 housing. I switched to the .83 divided on my s363 and it was a night and day difference in response. S360 with a twin scroll on a 1.5jz is very responsive IMO. I'd do that over a holset or s251 if the 257sxe is out of the question

Look into the S257sxe! It would be way more responsive than the S363 and easily make >400whp
