My pathological predisposition for wasting money
Macintosh Classic replied to RickyFromThePark's topic in Build Threads
........you knocked up a bitch that is far from hour glass and intelligent. You're escaping the next 18 years of your life -
I ran the set front and back. Gives you a go kart like feel. Definitely meant for sliding. I loved it, but I also had serial nine everything as well.

So there discontinued on the whole? ...sucks. seems like quarter master is going to be the only way to go after a while.

HKS used the same disks and same diameter for EVERY FUCKING THING. If you're clever you could source some thing from another chassis with the spline count/diameter. HKS designed it to be modular.

^you would understand that pain, if you had a R154 in your x8. It's a painful reality. I kid you not. The bellhousing and bulk of the trans make it impossible to do any other way. -

If that's case, respect and good luck. -

You bought someone else's ragged out modified car (which is a terrible idea). you basically bought this car when everything started to wear out to the point that the previous owner parked it to sell it so everything that falls apart is on the new owner (You). Fix it enough to park it and sell it to someone else. -
This is great. this totally reinforces my rule to never buy a modified vehicle. Can't trust other people's standards to be good.

Macintosh Classic replied to zokustyle's topic in Build Threads
I like this build. #spoonyou -
yeah… if that is what the interior looks like, who fucking cares which dash is in it. Let us know what the corner weights come up as.
-
Actually, I like his logic. Leave it as is. Get it running. Enjoy the fucking car. The longer it sits, the more likely it is that you will move on.

Thank you, Rue.

aluminum 2jz block would make a nice flower pot or wine rack thing.

35-10= 25. That's 10min of not crawling around under the car having shit fall in your face. And bonus 25 minutes enjoying a victory beer.

Should put a shark fin on the supercharger.

Walaboro 255 is a malnutious butt knuckle. If I did another X8, I'd just do it right with a fuel cell and real pump. Stock tank and access to is fuck stupid. Especially, if you're going to put shitty pumps in it.

Early ucf20 vs 98+ curbweights (Where's the fat at?)
Macintosh Classic replied to Macintosh Classic's topic in Green Hell
Found what I wanted http://www.lexls.com/info/lsgenerations.html Can't easily remove body reinforcements or sound deadening. I will stick with the 95-96 variants. -
95 - 3650lbs 96 - 3650lbs 97 - 3726lbs 98 - 3890lbs Are these weights including all optional features? Is the 5 speed auto notably heavier than the 4 spd? Or is it the more sophisticated ABS with the accompanying asston of computers/wiring? Or all of those? I know there's plenty of weight in electronics and seats from the few build threads I've seen here. I hoping FOR I can pull the weight down to 3650lbs without sacrificing the good creature comforts. ABS, 6 disc CD, and touch screen-cd rom based GPS are NOT amount them. Any stabs at it?

Besides stick to the question at hand. -

Creature comforts being power windows, functional dash, a/c, heat, backseats, sound deadening, cup holder, horn, etc. I wasn't going to gut the Fuck out of it. But if I can get it back 3650lbs that'd be awesome cuz I've driven a 95 and I was happy with it for the most part. I've heard from people and seen the stats showing the vvti and 5 spd auto are much faster. It just doesn't handle as good as the early ones. -
I'll balance out with a compliment on the StormTrooper white look. I like that part of it.
