Updates, Doubt the car will be done by December Where it is stored is flooded, and that's no issue for the car but getting it out is. The farm is a mud pit, so i can't take it anywhere until it drys out. sad but it's allowed me to start getting parts together to hit it with one big working bee on it. So I don't get how EFIHardware sells its products and has a good reputation. So as people are aware the ITB kit I purchased has been a bit of an issue to fit a 2JZ, anyway purchased their airbox that is meant to fit with their ITB kits, however, linkages would hit the box no matter what way I set up the linkages. anyway ended up in cutting notches in the airbox and from this designing covers for them that I'm, currently printing. The prototype cuts have been fine other than the heater tap mount, for some reason it's always off when I cut it, I might be jinxed. in regards to the motec M130, it turned out to be fine having a couple of inputs free and a single output. I have also sent off the guards to get vented etc to look like the below. So Custom work left is the rear spoiler I need to design, the tail shaft. fluid lines, loom and try and get this heater tap to mount correct. I need to decide what to do with gauges, and clusters., do I get the stock one working, or do I mod the stock one and add an elite micro-gauge or some other small canbus gauge? or do I go silly and buy a motec C1212? I think the elite micro will be the go, but still think a motec would be nice. then everything else seems to be off-the-shelf items, like buy clutch, headlights, battery, clutch slave, master etc and some tires. The rare part I'm on the lookout for is Trust 4-point harness with buckle x2, don't care if they are out of date, it's simply for show and to finish off the trust/greddy catalogue. so there we go. sorry, it's not a crazy update and lots of pictures or a start vid/skid vid. but hopefully, I can get a lot of it done early in the next year.

So i thought it was time i made a build thread on the project im working on. Old owners build thread (no pictures showing, Might need access to view) http://www.auszoku.net/foru...r=asc&start=0 Not so much a a set goal car, just something all round fun, cool and a little different. Picked the X3 back in March 2014 from owner Sam First thing i did was bolt on chin spoiler and some flairs I then removed them and got over the whole scene kid STANCED bolt on flare look. During this time i started my project company Ciscokids (Cressida/X Chassis focused parts) bought a bunch of investment properties and shares and really gave up on car's. so of course the car's came to a halt. So this bring me to to 2015 and as apart of Ciscokids i bring over Tezuka for QR matsuri and meeting the QLD Guy's and the scene there really re-sparked my interest in car's again. So start sorting my Debt's and paying them off and then decided to propose to GF to find out this will put another year delay on me getting to play with car's When i got home i went to restore the car to get it back on the road and this happened. It took a year and a half to find a new rear windscreen. the goal was to then have the car for the wedding but delays at the painter meant i did not get the car back for 7 month's All inside boot painted, door jam's and behind doors painted in Toyota Black 202 the rest will be painted once i have fitted everything and welded up holes Changed my mind on the direction of the car and decided i wanted something presentable and something i would enjoy for the long haul do a bit of everything in. plus something the wife could drive. so plan's changed to 2JZGE VVTI Manual IRS Swap Remove Power Steering box People that know a lot of my builds follow silly themes's so like my other car's this is going Black with Tan trim with a engine theme. The JZX81 i have is the same Colour combo but with a HKS engine, having always wanted a Trust/Greddy engine i went that route. So that is when this started the current parts list for this engine are below. EFI Hardware Billet ITB Set EFI Fuel rail ATI Balancer Leeson engineering Alternator swap kit Leeson 2JZ Bolt kit Tomei Procam's (256/262 combo i think) Greddy Timing belt Greddy Cam gear Greddy Oil Cap Greddy Pullykit Greddy Oil filter relocation Uniflow sock filters (yellow) Still need to get a couple more item's more so service item's and a Custom equal length exhaust manifold made Sold off my old Autronic SM4 and purchased a Emtron KV8 Cross member swap. Out with the old I have modified a E7 Cross member to fit/work the reason i went this route was i already had AE86 coilovers in the car and wanted to keep the front end as simple as possible, with no power steering box i went with a FLO's quick rack to get this to work i had to trim it and make it shorter as well as re align the holes tried to use as much of the stock items as i could to make it look like a genuine item LCA lines up dead centre as per the old one, i might need to add MX62 arms for added length but i will have to wait until i get my brakes before i put the front end back in to test/trail Stranded internet chat, IRS is a bolt in swap no issues. Well as you can see A6/X7 IRS swap is about 660mm short each side Anyway fab work to get this fixed, i went with modding the sub frame vs the body to fit this and made a jig to suit. I want to try and use all the standard IRS points in the car Sub frame was put in place, bolted in flat then welded to the box steel so it would not move, then chopped i combined box steal inside the sub frame, and turned two sub frames into one by chopping one as a shell to cover the new box steal internals. I still need to move the trailing arm/IRS mount's back to the original position but awaiting camber adjustment mounts to be back in stock at raptor racing. had engineer go over it and he is happy to pass it. Now this car was never built for go fast/drifting so that is why i went this IRS, trying to keep it semi stock looking/feeling. Problems i have at the moment is handbrake cable mounting points are in the way of the cross member, so i need to move them to suit and work out what i will do in regards to cable's Parts i still need to buy RCA's 30mm ish Big brake kit Maybe swap bars New bushes all round some cool JDM wheels 14's maybe 13's rebarrled to 14's items i have and yet to fit TRD style drivers seat, Alpine speakers (old school JDM things) Old school Greddy gauges JDM Gauge Cluster (might mod the digital part of this gauge to have elite gauge fitted internally instead of garages.

I have an IRS F series rear end. you have the older GA6/X7 and the IS300 TRD diffs available but they are discontinued. So getting one is hard I should add mine came with a 4.3 gear ratio and that should make it a little more fun with the NA.

So been a little lazy due to the cold weather.Still have the target of having it driveable by December. Pref the Japanese car show in early December, but if I miss that, the PF XMAS party.Updates are,all sensors have been purchasedThe airbox has been purchased, i still need to work out a way so the linkages don't hit the boxpurchased TRD 2 Way LSD.all prototype metal is being re-cut out of 3mm as i found the 1mm was not that great and re-designed the heater tap mount.purchased rubber for fuel tank straps,Created Google retro speaker https://www.facebook.com/CISCOKIDSAU...77943153884800 still needs some fine tuning, waiting on parts.next steps, once all metal is back, i will drop it all off at the powder coaters to get blasted/painted and start fitting it all.Problems,i think the change to Motec M130 might have been an issue as i might run out of inputs with the DBW ETC, but I will wire up all the essential things first, and whatever is left, i will decide on a case by case bases.

The fuel tank has been repaired, cleaned and coated in E85 safe stuff. hopefully, the coating does not flake, have heard mixed things but the shop that did it said I should not have problems and fingers crossed the fuel filter catches it all if it does fail. Progress has slowed down due to family life, in the next 3 weeks I should be free again to start getting things done.

So everything is mounted, I will require some thicker mounts etc. but I can at least dummy up hoses etc. DBW motor Mounted and now just needs linkage about 180mm I think it hard to tell what would be optimum and what will work without hitting anything etc.problems I need to solve are the heater tap mount/new oneextending the driving intermediate shaft 10mm.and fix dint in fuel tank large enough to cause issues with fuel pump/catchment.and put on some pretty bolts etc, and start cleaning it all up. straighten things etc and mount bumpers and so on. the good thing is other than some oil lines and an engine loom the custom side of things has been completed.

So the water jet place fucked up my order and there has been a delay and I will probably have to do most of them again due to what they used, was wanting to trail fit everything today as I won't be able to get to the car for another two weeks anyway. in the meantime, I took some advice in regards to the 350Z pedal and well used the stock bottom hole and made a new hole up top and this was the final result. pretty good if you ask me, after removing the stock pedal pad and putting the X3 one back on you can hardly notice the difference. i will trim down the new DBW rod so it all sits behind the stock X3 pedal but yeah. really happy with the results. The exhaust was also finished today other than hangers. (shop is out of stock)

Bit of a slow down, twin 16" thermo did not fit, so have gone one 11" one 16" and will attempt that Bosch DBW Pedal was to large and made it difficult to fit so have purchased a 350z one to see how that will go. all the items I dropped off at the metal guy to cut, he fucked up and I think they're all cut out of stainless. when I wanted mild steel and they did not even do the different thickness etc. so I'm going to have to get everything re-cut in the future but at least I can do the prototyping and make sure they all fit/do hoses etc. its just a waste though of time/effort. Sold the fancy KV8 Emtron ECU and downgraded it to a Motec M130. fewer inputs (still will end up with spares) and no onboard wideband. but for the price, I sold the emtron for I came out $200 ahead after buying the ECU and the Wideband controller.

Maybe I will bring it to the USA..... Was thinking about shipping my 81 to the states to do drift week and other events, like a driving my own car tour. but back to the topic, i will film a dyno run or a drive-by and tunnel run once it is driveable and use a decent mic setup.

So a little update. Sourced two discontinued Greddy catch can's, I have purchased stainless tubing and stainless steel wool to make these more effective. started mounting all the odds and ends. vacuum tank and pump Landcruiser washer/overflow setup. this needed one mount shaved off and two holes drilled into the front panel but fit really nice. uses the same plug as standard as well. All the templates made to start mounting everything will be dropping these off to get cut, I'm 90% sure they are all going to work, but we will never know for certain. but here is the vacuum pump/tank mount, heater tap mount, catch can mounts, DBW mount, catch an air filter mounts (plan on remote mounting) and a tow strap mount I have also been told I need to fit EPA Gear, like charcoal canister etc, so fitting one from a VX Commodore, to suit the EFI Fuel pump I have. I feel if I use the complete commodore setup (standard LS1 V8) my little 3L might have more chance of passing. the plan is to install a Fuel pump PMW, Purge solenoid and run E85 to pass the test. and put an airbox over the filters. exhaust is about 70% completed as well, leaving DBW Pedal and Oil filter relocation the last of the things I need to custom mount. and not related to the build, but the Hilux I purchased for my daughter. first, listen to learn, don't buy an electric car that can go faster than you can run. this will do 14kph(8.5mph) she loves it, have since also found out you can mod these to go faster, add brake pedal etc. but she is enjoying car's at the moment so it makes me feel i need to keep the baby seat mount in the X3 so she can come on drives with me lol.

The first picture I have taken with both the manifold and ITB on together. then some basic pictures of the wheels on, callipers clear with no spacer on the front so very happy about that. The rear sits nice and I hope the camber will bring it into the guards perfect. now looking at the picture, it looks like it hits the coil, but I span them and I don't remember hearing any noise. My fingers are crossed might also worry about what tire i fit. rear big boy's 14X10 for people at home.

The manifold is complete and all welded up, the exhaust items have arrived, including the mufflers (finally), and the rims have finally arrived after a 6-month wait. Still need to sort out LSD, Thermo Fan's Manifold Exhaust Wheels

    [HIZOKU] PIG EYE Streeter

Wheels have left Japan. should be here in the next week or two. mufflers have arrived from the states, I need to buy two reducers and a battery box/tray and a fuse box of some sort and I think that is about it, start mounting everything buying tube/lines to suit I will have to start deciding what to do with the loom if I'm going to attempt it or will I pay someone to do it. part of me is thinking I will do it, as I have two other cars I need to produce looms for so this car would be a good learning experience.

I was thinking about buying a fuel cell that would fit in there because with a 14 x 10 etc, there would be no spare that would suit. I will have to just hope for the best I don't get a flat. I have found a tank but I would still be missing sender etc. so still undecided what I should do. do I attempt to get the stock cluster working or do I just get a digital gauge and leave it at that? Small update the steering shaft is completed with bearing fitted so the slop in steering has been removed. Engine and R154 going in tomorrow. good news is the collector is here Radiator and Shroud have left japan, currently in Melb so will be here next week and stainless flange should be here next week. leaving the car for what I hope is the final stretch. with steering and engine fitted. it will be a case of wiring, getting fuel and brake lines sorted and the serviceable items like brakes a freshen up.

The fact I will be running 14x8 and 14x10 on the fucker, I'm just not going to have a spare and accept a tow home. I have thought I might put the battery etc., in there. This way, I can keep a full boot empty and everything under a false floor.

    [HIZOKU] PIG EYE Streeter

So a minor update, Due to time and getting over the car sitting there, I sent the car to 21Fabrications. Rear-end is now in, straight. We ended up just welding in the cross member instead of having it bolt in like stock due to only needing the diff bush to be held into place. Essentially a cross between X6/X7 Cressida's. However, mostly tack welded to make sure the engineer will be 100% happy with the plan before 100% welding it in. I have also added some tiny braces to the camber adjusters. The rack has been moved forward 20mm. However, as you noticed, the steering rack is sitting a little upright. However, this might not be a problem, but we will not know until we finish removing the slop out of the steering column/shaft. Caster mounts and arms are now in place. Other problems that have been run into are the S13 fuel tank simply too big for a low car. 100% will work if you sit at average ride height and like that Torana/VN drop tank look. So options are fuel cell, custom tank or find a stock tank and convert it to EFI. So this is all the work that happened after I dropped the car off Friday at lunchtime. So pleased progress is happening. A little disappointed I have not been able to work on it as much as I hopped. What's next? Install the engine and transmission. So what are we waiting for? The bearing for the steering shaft, Radiator and thermo's to arrive. Stainless exhaust manifold flange to be cut. 6-1 merge collector to arrive. What I need to sort out, Custom muffler for the rear of the car, want dual 2 inches in/outlets with round muffler so classic Japanese 240z style however there about 100mm too long so custom it is. I also need to work out whether I put in a hotdog or another muffler to pass engineering. a person I know passed with the same engineer on one muffler, one hotdog setup. But he had no extractors. So feeling I might be close to the limit.
  22. Anyway, thought i would make a build thread for the car i'm currently working on. Goal of this car is pretty much a fuck around street/drift car. so i purchased this car from Tassie sight unseen after what was described as interior is complete, and damaged repaired, had it shipped over and friend picked it up and the 1st msg I got was "do you know the condition of this car" lol so hopes had been smashed a little. The car was very cheap even after postage and well people who know JZX81's know there is only a handful in the country so i was ok with it i guess. As you can see in the pictures just about every panel on the car has issue's, the front rad support is fucked, strut rail passenger side fucked, dash items are all cracked or have holes in them. wires chopped just about everywhere and random shit missing. holes drilled into floor for battery and fire extinguisher, seats missing, seatbelts missing, just about everything LOL. i never had huge plans for this car, was going to turn it into the race car but i already have another JZX81 with weld in cage, tubbed front, etc so returning that one to stock seemed like more work than to just fix this one. so, I started the repair process. Purchased wreck with brown trim with intention of using rad support and so on. Purchased some seat's and started the process of putting this car back together Purchased an Alpine head unit was on sale and double din and only $150 so jumped on it and it’s not like I need features it’s not a daily. Contacted friends and asked what parts they had available and got front bumper, found a spare headlight in my stash of parts and have purchased front indicator's and a RH side headlight to complete all the lights. I have guards although flared i will probably run them. Engine wise it will get just about everything from my "race car JZX81" so HKS built 1JZ, Radiator, intercooler, GT3240 etc. I will post pictures up of it when i finishing putting the pulley kit and DBW swap on it. so overall, i hate the car and don’t mind denting it and so on as it will pretty much be a practice car and getting scrap parts i have had in storage over the years and will be the test mule for the race car. lesson learnt, don’t buy a car sight unseen LOL.

HAHA, The one where the guy asks, read my other posts (cheapest upgrade possible with no adapters) then asks about dual calliper. always happens though, like the guy on that thread. i have the setup its great..... then everyone starts writing about pad issues then he chimes in i have pad issues to. its like MAN you just told everyone they are great and now your telling everyone you had issues and replaced a key item. i did BS a bit in the thread though, and posted pictures of cars in there prime not current state lol

i was going to do the whole internal side to start with allowing for window to be added, but then thought anyone going composite doors is not going to be going normal windows, the reason I did it this way was I'm just going to mirror tint where the window would be and leave it at that. but some people would like to put clear lexan/polycarb and this way they could trim the window and use it as a frame to rivit on the lexan/polycarb.
