    i blue you

Slight thread hijack... Why the fuck can you buy aftermarket carpet sets for an X7, but not the X8 ? ACC offers X7 carpet sets for $165-$220, but not the X8. Fuckers ! Wonder how close the X7 set comes to fitting the X8 ?

I like Technico's 7M oil pump drive shaft roller thrust bearing. It's a must if you plan on jacking the oil pressure up. Wait, no one here messes with a 7M besides me...... Never mind.......

    Gordo's X8 Ramblings

Too late, already bought the Zeta IIIs. They were on sale at Evasive. Then bought these side covers out of Japan to protect them, only in Blue. Since the IIIs in blue are being discontinued, I'll probably buy some extra center pads while they are still available. Just waiting for the side mounts now, found some blue anodized ones.

    Gordo's X8 Ramblings

Guess it's about time I do a build thread instead of throwing out bits of my stuff everywhere else. It's not going to be in any fucking order. I will post my currant accomplishments, and fill in once in a while with past doings. Just finished building my X8 clutch master cylinder, 3/4" bore to work with my Coleman coaxial throw-out bearing set-up. Rue enlightened me on the 5/8" bore master being a little on the weak side for dislacement. Trouble is, the run of the mill 3/4" masters here have the wrong reservoir for the X8. I know people cram them in, but I wanted the long angled reservoir that belongs on an X8 (same as the IS300 / Mk4 Supra). So after hours of surfing, I found that the Land Criusers in other parts of the world have the correct style of reservoir mount, and are 3/4" bore. So I found one, that is aluminum, and changed out the plastic from one of my spare IS masters. Had to make a spacer for the front, so that it would mount correctly, and used a 5mm stainless shcs, instead of the roll pin that comes from Toyota.

Yeah, get rid of the scoop, leave the hole, mount a big fake supercharger on the cam covers of the JZ.... Just kidding of course. Nice progress. What are you going to do with the left over lawn mower engine ?

    Wizard People, Dear Reader

Well, like so 5 cylinders isn't bad, after all, didn't Volvo, or someone over there make a 5 cylinder engine ? A worn out Toyota will still out run most other engines

...........I’m also going to need stiffer springs again. And stiffer settings on the dampeners......... ..........so made this car just about un drivable and made sure the 'glass will get shredded....... You remind me of that guy who went through all the work to put S13 front suspension on his X8, forgot to take the tools out from under it, then dropped it off the jack, and couldn't get them out because the oil pan was sitting on them. He made a lot of bad life decisions, including buying an FR-S that had totally burnt to the ground thinking he was going to 'restore' it.....

Well, $50 is a win, but don't be surprised if some red neck with a Dale Ernhardt mustache, high on crack steals them. They might be good for bashing into other drifters, as they must weigh 30 lbs apiece.

Like the '71 Firebird OEM looking wheels, and the fake canards. (not really)

Bottom line, never, ever get under anything heavy that is supported by a hydraulic device. A lot of people have died that way. Don't care about you particularly, but the poor first responders that have to pull you out, and family members that have to clean up the mess, after you have been scraped off the floor.

With an engine support bar from someone like Jegs, Summit, or Eastwood. https://www.jegs.com/p/JEGS/JEGS-Engine-Support-Bar/5852744/10002/-1 Damn cell phone kids, you all walk around with those things stuck to your noses, and don't have a clue what exists in the real world.

    Mx83 seat swap

Pass it around facebook, that we don't like holding hands on simple shit. We will occasionally stumble in to something technically challenging, but since we have already proven that we still do a lot on our own, we will get & give truthful, helpful help. We are a forum of doers, we do shit, then post about it.

A bench seat from a '58 Buick works, and wouldn't look any worse than something out of a '95 on up car. And shitface21, where the fuck is your required intro ?? Damn facebook kids....

Who uses iron Z32 calipers ? Never mind...... Too much front brake? Put a damn adjustable brake bias valve on it. That way, you can let your larger rear brakes take some of the load. Wait, you did upgrade the rears, right ?

Hm, two diffs in a row making the same vibration unlikely. Bad gears in the trans ?

Throttle dependent vibration is typically the rear end not being set up correctly, or a gear set that was never set up properly to begin with, and developed a bad wear pattern. If it wasn't for the Mexican muffle shop exhaust on my truck, that rubs the cab, it is vibration free over 100, even with a 2-piece drive shaft. (won't due much more than that with a nearly stock L18, but it will do it all day long) Things that contribute to a non-throttle vibrations are bent wheels, cheap ass tires that are not round, center drive shaft bearing (if running a stock 2 piece still), worn half shafts, and as you mentioned, drive shaft, including worn u-joints. Your not running an XM drive shaft, are you ?

    SG JZ Alternator Relocation Kit

Just don't turn into another Beach Performance, or Jose's Aero, or any of the other junk peddlers that have infected this sight. Personally, I would pass on the anodized version, unless it's clear, or black. You just give all the kiddies more reason to turn their engine bay into a gay pride flag. I'll probably never buy one, since I'm a "Give me a 7M, or give me death" kind of guy, But it looks good.

You should slow your feed rate down, you would get a better finish. I'm just an old fashion manual machinist, but I'm pretty sure you just have to change a number in the program. And what is the price ? (think that is a requirement for the 'for sale' section) Also, did you ever do an intro ? 13 posts, I didn't see one.
