    Bought a Mark II JZX81

hah thanks. another update; because i am a pedantic asshole with some sick obsession on keeping this car as original looking as possible, i decided to just rewheel the stock twins vs going single (yeah welcome to 2004 right). so along with that rad downpipe, i'm going to see if he can help make a custom y pipe as well. comp turbo is building the turbos now, thanks @Demesio for dropping off your old junk. so with those, a new pump and injectors, new ic, and a link (or haltech?), let's see if I can do a few hp over stock and call it good.

Mediocre at Cresst - now with nsfw autophilia

Everything changed when the track was bought by the reservation. Back when it was Firebird International and owned by a private company they had the track opened a lot more. I guess the reservation thought the land was now too valuable to review the lease, so Firebird sold the facility to the reservation and it was renamed to Wild Horse Pass. They promised to keep it open for a while, but you know they will eventually tare it all down and build a casino closer to the freeway. After that, we won't have any tracks left in AZ other than AMP which has crazy noise restrictions still.

taking note of this if i need it! i want to keep my jzx axles for as long as possible and not run cressidas.

back in the dark days (~2001) all us az folk used to drift a abandoned air field out on the east side. it had such coarse asphalt it was nicknamed tire hell. anyway, most of the original drifter scene was started there. Phoenix International was a fun track to drift back in the day too, I took my first Cressida there. 100+ mph entries (I didn't have the balls for that shit). There were drift events almost every weekend about 15 years ago it seemed, it's quieted down a lot lately.

well i already bought this one, so i’ll wait until it breaks i guess. i did check those nuts and they are steel, so maybe they upgraded it since the earlier versions?

all i did was swap the frs/drz internals (torsen diff and gears) into the x8 housing. but, i did notice the rear cover plate from the x8 does bolt on to the frs/brz case (with no dowel pins) and the mounting tabs are higher so i assume you can install a frs/brz diff in the same manner most people do a mkiii diff case, you would just need shorter spacers in the front.

cut up a cressida clock to use the factory plug to power the gauge. worked perfect because that plug has every thing you need.

did a few things. installed xm subframe and diff bushings (2.5 GT has unique stiffer oem rear subframe bushings), installed my frs/brz diff with 4.10 gears, some battle version rear camber arms because the stocks were thin and rusted, a defi racer boost gauge (fuck that controller) using Nac's OG clock adapter kit (which works well because you can flip the rear plate to fit RHD cars), oem mark ii shag floor matts, and a cusco strut brace (gave up ever finding a oem). also marc is working on my oval downpipe to sit above the frame rail.
