    1UZ Truck

My truck came with the shitty 3.slow 3vze. It's best to start with the V6 since most of them are for sale with either leaky head gaskets or tossing rods out the block. Plus R series trans, 4 piston front calipers and P/S hoses bolt right up.

    1UZ Truck

I thought I'd share my latest project with you guys. I've been wanting build a truck for a while and decided on a '89-'95 Toyota with a Lexus V8. I wanted mid sized, 4wd 5 speed and plenty of power to tow cars/boats and hall ass up our many mountain passes. I also wanted to do this swap with IFS and no body lift. I'm using the KS Racing bellhousing for the R series transmission, modified 3VZ flywheel and some engine mounts made by Rob @ Flipside Customs. He made a few other custom parts for the truck including the lower oil pan, modified Tundra exhaust manifolds, exhaust, lower steering column, modified radiator and egr block off plates. We might be building another truck within the next year and have parts available for other people do this conversion. I've driven it about 2k miles so far and am very happy with it. It makes a great replacement for the 3.slow in these trucks and 4runners. Next will be a LSD as I can spin a tire in 3rd gear in the wet no problem. Also a 2-3" lift, 33" tires, class 3 hitch and see how it tows Rob's Cressida.

    ECU internal relay

Hey guys. I've been helping a friend get his 2J Cress ready to fire up and am running into a similar problem I had years ago with mine. With mine after many tests we figured out that the MREL wire from my ECU was not turning on, which should as soon as IGSW gets 12v and the ECU sends power through MREL to signal the EFI relay to turn on. My ECU was getting power from IGSW when it should, so I simply bypassed mine with a manual switch. On this other Cressida, all is well until you turn the ignition switch off, and the EFI relay, COR, ECU and maybe more, still have power. Two, so far I've checked, have lower voltage like the IGSW and MREL wire at the ECU, are at around 8v once the ignition is switched from on to off. It's not the ignition switch or EFI relay. I'm pretty sure it's this "relay" in the ECU between IGSW and MREL, and I can make it work without it but since this is the second time I've come across this kind of problem I thought I'd see if anyone else has ran across this before. Thanks!

    AE86 From Hell

Thought I'd share a badass Corolla I've been helping a friend with, some of you guys may know him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l568wGYB1vo Didn't get it running quite right for pro am this weekend, which is a bummer but will be tearing up the track soon hopefully

    ECU internal relay

Yeah, that's what I'm doing to make it work. From what I understand the ECU was in control of MREL power in the first place for safety measures that are no longer working with this swap anyway. Let him get used to the motor and his badass suspension and then go single turbo and AEM in the future.

    ECU internal relay

Yes it is Rob's, and it will run, but I don't think it will shut off the way it should because of this issue.

That's what I'm thinking. Wiring is good, it was done by the pro. Battery is good too.

    AE86 From Hell

Was running a SC400 ecu that was bad. Wired up a LS400 ecu/harness he got with a spare motor and replaced a coil that went bad. Runs like a champ now and is stupid fast and loud for a Corolla. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7is1UIGabI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6vc1dCU_i8

    AE86 From Hell

Using a 1st gen supra axle which is 7.5" and disc brakes. 1uz weighs something like 50-80lbs more than a 4age. Not sure what this one weighs now but it has lost p/s, a/c, egr, and lots of unnecessary brackets. Engine runs okay now but we think with the bad ecu running retarded, the cats have plugged up. Getting them removed tomorrow and we shall see. Got the wiring in the engine bay pretty cleaned up so far

    AE86 From Hell

I'm pretty sold on the 1uz's for their price/power plus the early ones like some boost. Having some issues now though. Engine is idling at about 5 deg timing and does not advance with throttle input. MAF and TPS are fine, but getting a code 12 (in translation from TIS) says G1, G2 or NE signal is not input to ECU for 2 sec. or more after STA turns ON. Both cam and crank sensors check out good as well as continuity back to the ECU. Belt has not slipped, and all the sensor trigger wheels look good and straight. Does anyone own or know someone with a 92-94 SC400 we can try this ECU on?

    Wagon Force

No more cress for me (for now) but thought I'd share what I've been working on Rescued AE95 Wagon, previous owner forgot to put the oil cap back on after adding oil Dropped in a blacktop 20v

    ...

I turned down a 7mge -> 7mgte job with this in mind months back, and the dude thought it would only take an evening to "hook up all the wires and stuff" Also noticed Phoenix Tuning listed the 1kzte on their site. Have you ever worked on any? I've always wanted to put one in a taco or runner but they cost as much as a 6speed 2jz. BTW Great prices, most people have no idea how much time/experience it takes

Lots of trimming on the inside of the accord bumper to fit the intercooler Latah county, I live in bellevue though. What do you have to trade?

Axles Hubs and Upper Control Arms

Wasn't sure what they're worth so make an offer
  18. I have a pair of spare MX83 axles, hubs and upper control arms available. Boots are not torn but one of the hub bearings needs to be replaced. I'll get you one from Toyota employee price or something $120 obo

I been in and out the bank, bitch.

Do a compression test Could be rings, valve stem seals, turbo seals. Hopefully something as simple as a wack pcv. Too much crank case pressure can prevent your turbos from properly draining oil back to the pan forcing it past the turbo seals into the exhaust and or intake. Happened to my turbo ae86, so check your exhaust and intercooler pipes for excessive oil too

    My Japanese Cadillac

Picked this beauty up about 6 months ago and finally sold the 86 to fund this project. Just a little dirty, not sure how long it sat, previous owners had no idea what was wrong withh it. Changed the plugs and charged the battery and it fired up but spewed mocha milkshake out of about every seal. There was about 2 gallons of that shit in the oil pan which took over an hour to drain. I found a much better use for the 7mge however Coming in next week! JZX90 motor 18" Wheels and tires Coilovers and lots more that I won't remember what I ordered until I open the box

Not great pics or fitment but I like to try new things... this is 90-93 accord bumper and clear turn signals with 94-97 lip Bumper from Certafit $35 Clear turn signals from eBay $20 Front lip from eBay $60
  22. I've had a few but heard the best one today and thought I should share Kid: "Is this one of those Euro-Passat things?" Me: "No it's a Cressida" Kid: "Oh! Did you import it?" Me: "No" Kid: "Huh, sweet" (Really puzzled look on his face, but he also looked pretty baked)

    My Japanese Cadillac

I agree it looks better without a bumper but it's not legal as I've found out a few times. I agree it doesn't look great but still better than the stock diving board and almost $1k less than the S9 kit, when available.

    My Japanese Cadillac

S9 kits are sick and I've seen them in person; but like most others, I don't have the $$$. Didn't feel like jumping off my stock diving board of a bumper like most of us that cannot afford something different. So I opted to try something different, not well documented and cheap ($35 not including paint and zipties) Lip, turn signals, and better paint will come soon...

    Ex-Chassis.

Redmond police didn't bother me, just wanted to know why my car was so loud. Kirkland police on the other hand "Sir I noticed you don't have a front license plate... or a bumper"
