Novel warning. Let's start withh some history... This is going on a couple boards so bear withh me. I rocked the S13 for a long time, it was a great car. Blew the motor towards the end of the season in '07 on where I coincidentally grenaded the rear aero that lasted a couple years. The motor had lasted a good 5 years I think and the stock headgasket finally gave. Warped the deck pretty decent too. Parted it all out shortly after. Here she was in '06(?) pre-floyellow wheels. Ahh, memories. So anyways... Building a four door for '09 was the plan from the beginning. I've been wanting to forever. Always seriously considered the JZS147 but chassis values seemed ridiculous for what I wanted to do to it. Toyed around withh getting a JZX from Canada, nothing ever really panned out. Just about bought a JZS161 but then that fell through. The whole time I was looking at Cressidas here and there but never really liked them. I then realized I didn't like them because there were numerous people that built or were building them but they all look like shit (before some people yell at me, that has changed a LITTLE). Well, JZ motor drops in. JZX81 body is bolt on. 5spd is pretty much bolt on. Suspension is manageable. Ok. Why not. So the search began. After three months, I found on the same week a complete 5spd turbo MKIII Supra for $500 that would be my donor car and then a MX83 Cressida that was super clean and withh no sunroof. Even better. It was "leaking oil" but it's the typical BHG. Had Rob take a quick look at the cressida to verify as it was close to his place in Chicago and I'm of course in St. Paul. Car was good so I made the deal. Came to Chicago to pick up the Supra a few weeks later and the Cressidonk was sitting for me at Touge Factory (thanks Dave). I checked out the plushy goodness and was on my way. Threw it on the trailer the next weekend and brought it home. And then it sat. For months... Before this and through now, I had started picking up parts. Grabbed a JZX90 1jz, wheels, Mark II bodywork, Serial 9 strut tubes, Mark IV injectors and stuff in boxes that I honestly can't even remember. Recently ordered Big Win style aero through Gerard too. mmm. A couple weeks ago, I washed the Cressida and moved it into the garage. That was some serious progress. This weekend, I finally made a dent. I started stripping. Everything. And damn does this car have heavy crap. Even the sun visors feel like they weigh a full pound. Yuck. Still a lot left to pull out. Leaving the carpet until last. Makes my old knees feel better when I'm crawling around. Nice and clean. Waiting patiently. So the plan for now... Still have some more interior stripping to do, then the front end sheet metal, motor & trans, diff, exhaust and whatever else gets in my way. Then the car gets all sound deadening and rust proofing stripped, then power washed. Then full cage withh gussets. Weld on strut tubes and install Stance coils. Internally stock 1jz goes in withh GT35. Probably get cams over the winter. Fab a dash out of sheet metal or composite. Figure out seat and mount it. Z32 front brakes, ?? rear. Paint...and a lot of other details. Would like to get it running under it's own power before the snow flies but I have a million and one other things to do as usual. Need to get a 1jz R154 bellhousing, motor mounts and twin plate clutch sooner rather than later so I can get the motor ready to drop in. So that's it for now. Less words to come in the future, more pictures.

Hi dudes. Car had to go. Waning interest was certainly not the reason. Likely could have kept it but a lot easier to not and put myself in a better situation for the short term. Also glad to help out Ilia and a couple others that will put good parts to good use. Ilia is one of the best guys around. I'd like to have another, very simple drift car in the future, but my wants list is long. I for one don't give a flying fuck what it is. It's not about the cars to me, it's about the people. Anyways, didn''t mean to be so dramatic. Keep keepin on.

This is what's left. Nothing wrong, this turbo rules on 1j. I know 4 dudes that have the same set up. It's a $10 hub. Imagine what it looks like. I think there's a little chip of metal where the side hole is. It holds the steering wheel on. It's $10. I'm not taking a pic. Buy it and I'll throw in animal porn and a hot dog. *hot dog sold separately. Pedal assembly is sold. -

By that logic, nothing needed to progress, ever. Cars could drive just fine when the first Ford rolled off the assembly line. For the love of god, let there be no constructive criticism in this world. Let's all get praise and participation medals. I don't know what you use, but I have heavy 18"s, 265s and occasionally hit tracks well above the usual 40mph drift jamz. Predictable and reliable performance is important to me. I have PMU pads right now that don't perform as well as I'd like using a hydraulic brake. Stock pads are not a step in the right direction. I didn't know if there are better pad options available. He says there are. Good to hear. Just love the culture of this forum. xoxo.

I'm guessing that there aren't many "performance" pads available for that caliper? Or are there? Just wondering how much thought that was given to that rather crucial aspect when developed. Thanks.

How so? Make a large L bracket, weld it to the tunnel passenger side. Been yanking on mine for a few years. You could probably bolt it too, just put the heads on the exterior side.

Cut it all out. Bond S13 overfenders together to make them longer. Rivet on. Enjoy. That's what I'd too.- 136 replies

Some pics & vid from Automass Rd2 in Chicago. Planning on Gateway in November and then I'm done for the season. Then I'll start making the car look less crappy again. Lotsa angle, crappy tandem.

Stay tuned for the unveiling of my dick in your mouth! p.s. will be releasing length. -
Have you seen an S13? That's what my front end looks like. ha. The tension rod bracket side is the only thing "custom." And I'd be half embarrassed to show that, it looks pretty crappy but it's strong and it works. No pics really, just cut down the S13 piece and welded it right onto the X8 bracket. Braced a couple sides of it, drilled holes to be able to slide the bolt in/out, done. Took some rough measurements to try and get them close to the same on both sides but wasn't horribly concerned. The rods are adjustable, dial in the precision there.
-
I just want to underscore this. My car feels so damn good now with the wider front track, solid TC rods and added angle. Night & day, really didn't think the difference would be that staggering compared to where it was already at. If any of you are on the fence, do it.

edit - don't need. thanks.

And that's about all I know about that, just thought I'd pass it on.
