I need one for a bro. One of you fruit cups has one. Make it happen.

So I don't know shit about X7's

24 October 2013 - 02:05 PM

As some of you may remember, I recently bought Turnbow's old candy red X7. I am also in the process of selling it to a good friend to help him turn it into a ProAm project. I'm pretty sure he's planning on going stock 1jz with a bump up in boost. That's all straightforward enough. What I don't know what to tell him is what to do for suspension.

SerialNine is not an option in my book right now unless proven otherwise.

All I have managed to find searching is that mk2 stuff possibly transfers over and a whole bunch of random combinations of struts, shocks and springs that could possibly maybe one day start to think about being better than stock shit on cut springs.

Who has a proven suspension setup I can go off of?

BTW our search function sucks. I will no longer flame people for not using it.

Need driver side engine mount

Don't even need the rubber, just the plate that bolts to the front subframe. I know somebody has a broken one that they kept around. I will paypal you the handsome sum of $10 plus shipping. I've been telling myself I would go to the junkyard but it's been a month and I haven't done it so it's time to pay for my laziness.

Genius or Abortion? Coolant flow

I'm getting down to the last few steps before dropping this boat anchor in. I'm currently at the coolant port crossroads.

This is my idea:

I want to block off all ports other than engine inlet and outlet and a feed and return for the turbo. I know you don't have to run coolant through the turbo but if it extends its life even 1 extra event then it's worth it.

It would basically look like this:

I'll be running a standard radiator setup without the super cool neck mounted cap. Can anyone see a downside to running it like this or should it work fine?

This will not help anyone

But it's still cool.

These guys are making JZ to BMW trans kits with tilton clutches. Haven't seen a price. I'm sure they're right around Dr.Evil level. The Facebook page has better info and more pictures.

If you've already seen this, congrats, you're better at internetting.
