I'm talking to sleeper sideways and he wanted me to get this poll started. If you were following the last thread you would know that he is in possession of a complete BN sports Type II aero kit.

He made some calls yesterday, and lucky for you guys, he found a shop that is most likely willing to do it. As usual though, they want numbers. they want to see what kind of interest they can get, meaning numbers. How many people are ACTUALLY going to buy a kit, and how many would be willing to throw down money to get the ball rolling.


Obviously, the more people that buy, the cheaper the price gets, but lets not worry about that right now.

We know there is a huge interest for the BN kit, and type 2 being the most aggressive kit you can buy for the x chassis.

this is going to be quality stuff. Maybe not as good quality as actual BN, but its not going to be paper thin. We know the kit is going to be hitting the ground and taking abuse. it is going to be able to withstand that


There is talk that we will Block off the license plate holder as well, so it looks more natural on the Cressida.


We are also talking to Zokustyle about doing something that would make shipping cheaper for you guys in the states. Something like bring a big shipment down, then ship out of the states. Save time, money and hassle

I will refrain from voting, as I already have the other BN kit,
and am waiting for Jason to figure out what he is going to do with the plan to copy the Chaser/Cresta front end.

You have the type 1 BN kit?

I hope that JDM front bumper happens too. Options are good. And right now, they are very limited for the x chassis

i can't imagine daily'ing my cressida with typeII spaceship kit. don't have baller enough wheels to run that kit lol

for typeI for the x83, i'd be in no doubt.

i don't want a rear bumper but i'd be interested in full kit if it helps get it going. be willing to put deposit down on type I if it ever happens

I have the type 1 nose & skirts.
Frigging cost me $1800 by the time they were at my door.
Would hate to think what it would cost these days.

Do you know what resin Morton was using to get his pieces to be somewhat flexable ?
Might be something to consider on this project.

This is just for the Type II kit, I don't think Gordon will release his death grip on his Type I and it's too boring to put out the work in copying.

We don't have a Type 1 Kit to replicate. So for now this poll is type 2

The main goal right now is to find out exactly how many people want this kit asap, and would be willing to down pay. It will be a lot easier to put this idea into reality with more people on board. I'm not going to go ahead with this idea if only a few people show interest. To have my kit repaired and to have the origional mold cast will be pricey in its self.

I'm not out to take everyones money, I just want to make enough to cover me dealing with it, and to get this kit out there. I know what its like to drive a cressida with a stock front end. Lets be honest, it looks like crap. Your car deserves a tux to accent the way it sounds.

I'm still waiting on a quote from FRP, but right now I have interest from a company called custom yard works, who do septic tanks, campers, aerodynamic trailers, skidoo hoods and much more. I will get an exact quote from him as soon as I can. He said that the price will be much cheaper in larger qunatities. I will make sure that they are made thick and with a flexible resin.

Sleeper,

You might ask them where the quantity breaks will be.
That is standard business practice.
Most likely, they will not want to screw with less than 10 pcs., but that is for them to dictate.
Get a price on say, 5, 10, and 20.

Hell, if you could get them to tackle a drop-vent hood, I would be in for 2 of them.
Get Mo to go over to Morton's house, steal his one hood, and copy that, then return it with a $100 bill for rental fees.........
But that is a whole different project........

you really should add the option: I would buy it if i didn't already have aero, and/or I'm not interested I already have aero.

I'm covered already but this is good to have available since aero tends to get smashed once in a while.

$1000 bucks for this kit. Is what we are setting the price at right now.

Deposits. Lets say $500 down

But we aren't talking about down payments at all until we are sure that they can replicate the kits.

yea i know it's for type II. as much as i'd like to, it's not feasible for me to run that kit lol. which is why i didn't vote so i won't throw your vote off. hopefully someone can get this off the ground, would be awesome to see more choices and the right wheels with this kit looks bananas
