Trying to put a 4 or 5 point harness in that Cressida? This is your solution. We've made these harness bars specifically for the MX83 chassis, this isn't some universal piece that’s been adapted to fit. The entire kit is made from TIG welded steel components and plated with gold zinc. We’ve designed it to sit far enough back to allow ample room for tall drivers to have good seat adjustment while not being to far back into rear seat if yours is still in your car. We've put belt retention hoops on both sides that will accommodate 3" wide straps in common seat placement positions. MX specific mounting brackets on the door posts make for easy install and you can even retain the door post interior trim. The full set up comes with all the bars, brackets and bolting hardware, but the belts are up to you.

Price: $ 278.00 / 1
Product code: T-MX83-HB

I personally have one of these in my daily driver X8, it has more than plenty of space for me and I am 6'3"

Whoremouth_Jr - we have not tried fitting it to the X7, I will try that out tomorrow morning and let you know. If it does not fit there will be an X7 version in the future.

I could sit in the rear seat, and fold that piece of crap by pushing on it with my feet.
A frontal impact at just 60 mph will generate 30Gs, or way more than that erctor set death bar will take.

Nice for looks, but I hope no one thinks that is an actual safety piece........
Joint in the middle, with a go-kart tie rod running virtical ?...

...That bar should be one piece from where it bolts to one B piller, to the other, and at least 2, if not 3 virtical braces...

...It would be safer to run a piece of fucking water pipe from one back door to the other........

...I could sit in the rear seat, and fold that piece of crap by pushing on it with my feet.

Wow gordon, just wow.

So I felt Rich needed to make a statement on this subject,

FROM RICH: I always love when someone posts an opinion without having ever seen the parts first hand. If they had, maybe they would realize that it’s actually built quite strong, although I did notice your comment about go karts so maybe your perspective is a bit off. I’m not a go kart guy so I don’t think that way.
The cross bar is made from .120 wall DOM steel tube, that’s thicker than Formula D requires in their cages, it’s actually FIA, NHRA, and XDC spec wall. I can guarentee that NO sanctioning body allows water pipe. The center bolt is 3/4", if anyone wants to run the load calcs on that, feel free to post your findings.
I also included a few pics. You’ll notice the load cell shows 660 LBS, we stopped there with the pull test, please feel free to post pics of yourself squatting over 660 since apparently you can crush our bar/assembly with your legs. The vertical bar has a 1/2" chrome molly clevis end threaded and holds a tension load, please look up the specs and post your findings on capacity.
I’ve also included a pic comparing the factory Toyota shoulder belt bolts to the bolts we supply. I think you can judge for yourself which bolts are stronger, but then again maybe not, ours are. You should also notice that all the assemblies are double shear, the pictures show this quite well but I’m guessing it eluded you. Since you have absolutely no idea how they are assembled, all tube joints are socket fit and then 360 degree TIG welded, the brackets to the door pillars are formed 1/4" plate with the 1/2" arms welded on two separate planes, no single weld ever takes the power unto itself.
If you truly have no first hand knowledge or FACTS on something, please don’t post such strong OPINIONS on public forums about it. You’re attempts to make us look bad are getting old, and tiresome. I hope the members of this forum see your comments for what they are, negative, non constructive harrasment.

So I looked up your statement about the 60mph crash and it causing 30g's of deceleration. That is true but only when you go from 60mph to a dead stop in less than 4 feet according to NHSTA. Which if your 200lbs that causes 6,000lbs of force on your body. It doesn't matter what seatbelt or harness you have installed, ur fucked.

Oh and Whoremouth_Jr the X8 setup will not fit in the X7 (tried it this morning), so it will take a bit to come out with one for X7 guys.

im bad at math, someone should do the math to figure out how many G's would be exerted in a stop from 60mph to 0 in 4ft.

FROM RICH: For those of you who would actually like to know the reality of the hardware involved, some more facts....
The two 10mm bolts on the cross bar have roughly 17000 LBS of shear in our configuration.
The four stock bolts on the B pillar are approximately 20000 LBS of shear load.
The 3/4" double adjuster we use in the middle has approximately 42000 LBS of tensil strength and 33000 LBS of shear load cpacity, mind you it sees neither of these direct loads.
All the plates and welded hardware are thicker cross sections of material than the bolts that pass through them.

I appologise to all on the forums if this has gone off topic, although it is kind of humerous.

I'm trying to imagine how things like bolt in cages behave in an impact like that.

I gotta admit, this is very fucking entertaining but for the sake of the bunny rabbit, lets keep it down in here. The neighbors are gonna call the cops!!

Conclusion: if you want to mount a harness, this'll work but this isn't a substitute for a cage.

wow.

Regardless of the comments made. Negative or positive, It is always nice to see such a fast, informative and well detailed response from the people making the parts.

I'm actually glad that Gordon made that comment, because if he didn't, i don't think that this info would of been posted.

I think from now on, for crucial parts, how the testing was conducted, and all other info on the parts, should be posted.

regardless, it was a very nice read for me and other potential buyers, to know that what they are getting, is in fact, a quality product that is tested.

On topic.

I would ask if this fits a jzx81 chassis. But you guys would have no way of knowing. So would you be able to provide some measurements for me to check in my chassis.

Thanks

Holy shit. I forgot about that. That's Awesome.

As to why you spent all that time looking into it. I'm unsure. What you are trying to get at. I am unsure.

I never attacked you or anything. I made a post not towards you, but to the general public, and i mentioned your name.

the facts seem pretty meaningful to me.

Honestly I'm not quite sure if this will work in Canadian cars or JZX81's, be cause the b pillar design is completely different on cars with the auto belts.

Nathan, your right, I was being an ass towards you.
If you want that tinker toy stuff in your car, go for it.
I've posted good data on G-forces, XM came back and posted bull shit, and are unwilling to crank more load onto that product.
So I've done what I can.
Most people agree with me on that product being unsafe.
But what ever.........
