Whats up guys. My name is Brian and I have recently taken a strong interest in mx83's. So far I have gone to look at 2 of them for sale near me. One was pretty beat and the other I need some advice on. Its an 89, burgundy(its ugly but who cares) and the chasis has 223k on it. The car has a jdm 7m transplant with about 90k on it, no bhg yet... The major issues are; the dirvers side door lock doesnt work, any one have similar issues? It has a 8ish inch long rust spot on one of the rear quarters. Biggest thing I was worried about was a bhg, or possible future bhg. I checked the oil, coolant, and exhaust and everything seemed to be in order. The coolant gauge however seemed to rise above half way while i was driving it, then it went back. Im thinking maybe a sensor issue? Other than these 3 things, the car was pretty much of a gem.. The interior was awesomely ugly and mint, the paint still had good shine, and the battery, alternator, struts, and brakes were recently replaced. Im looking at buying this, or another mx83 for a dd and then eventually a drift whore 1uz/5 speed swap. If you educated cressida people could please give me some input on these issues that would be sweet! Im trying to figure out if I should buy this, and how much I should pay.. Thanks guys and sorry if my first post is a little wordy.

Offer $467 cash. Nothing more, nothing less.

TC.net is so super awesome for all kinds of info you're looking for.

This place is full of dicks that'll rip you a new asshole, just like me.

Buy your Cressida turd, do something cool to it, then come back.

Until then,

Garcia...You can draw, yay for you! So I have one opinion of $467, thanks a lot... Anyone that feels like actually giving me some useful advice instead of trying to talk shit on me, that would be sweet. I have done my research and obviously know my fair share about these cars. I just need some help from people who actually own these cars to tell me if they have experienced similar issues..

advice/help on what? door locks and rust are fixed pretty much the same way on all cars. there's nothing different about the x8...

just take that crap into consideration when making a LOW offer on the car and fix 'em as you go. but the folks around here will tell you need a 1JZ and a 5speed swap before worrying about trivial issues such as rear quarter cancer or being able to lock your door. and as for 7Ms, they're not to be trusted as internal combustion engines. a couple of islamic suicide bombers fred flinstoning it under the hood would be a more reliable source of power.

good luck...

No, you didn't do your homework. You came HERE to ask fundamental questions. Didn't you see that article where Ken Gushi says we're all dicks? He's right.

Whoever told you that "there's no such thing as a stupid question" never asked about old Toyota sedan values on a website dedicated to making awesome and berating people.

BTW, $467 is the price that our JZXP calculator generated based on your variables.

If you have done sooooooo much research on these cars then you would know that hoping a 7m will last for any amount of time is just fucking stupid. If the car drives when you buy it, that's a huge plus, but usually not a deal breaker. We are members of (JZ)xproject, not (BHG)project. Sounds like a good price for the car, I would give em $200 and tell them to fuck off either way. These cars suck to work on and will break your bank and your will/motivation, so the only logical reason to buy one is to JZ swap it, if you make it that far. Not being a dick....... more like a blunt truth-speaker.

Ahhh thankyou for some useful input. For the door lock problem I was mainly wondering if its a common issue for these cars? I understand it could be a number of things, but I was just wondering if its something that usually goes wrong. The rust I mentioned mostly to help people put an estimate on the cars worth.. The coolant temperature issue is the one im most concerned about. Anyone know if coolant temp sonsors normally go bad on these?

cool story bro.

I dont think jzx cares about the number of forums you whore out on...

7M's are peices of trash, literally, I've had mine for 2 years and nothing but problem after problem. Temp shit is basic, and dont expect answers for basic questions here, how many times does someone have to tell you this before you figure it out. Should we go onto your hipster vw forum and tell you?

and srsly, read the fucking sticky. you dont have a x so why are you here? and ill x2 you have to commit to these cars. this aint no zilvia with whored up 240's...
I do not ♥ 5m's and i definatly dont ♥ 7m's

The first problem is not owning a Cress. You want answers on JZX110 cross-reference shit, we'll help. You want to know about coolant temp sensors? Seriously BRO, stick with 240's. These things are very trying and wear down your soul. I have been daily driving my 2JZGTE cress for a few months now and have already had to have my engine back out 2 times for DUMB shit, and this morning on my way to work..... my transmission started to make bad noises. These things will kill your will to live.

But they do sound good.

You're on the wrong forum for "a strong interest in mx83's". Like everyone else has stated, you need fundamental help? TC.net. You dropping a 2J in and have run into a wiring issue after expending your resources? try here. but until then, stop whining about people not being helpful and read the stickies on this forum. No one here is going to help you change your spark plugs. sorry.

I read the sticky shortly after I posted which I apologize about, but I still think its funny that you guys put more effort into shit talking than just helping some one out. I bet for most of you it would have been easier to just answer a few of my questions and give me some guidance, than to just talk shit on me. Its pretty easy to talk shit on people over the internet huh? I hope a few of you boosted your self esteem a little bit more in the process. I appreciate anyone who actually gave me some input, thank you. -MentalStruggle04, I feel for you.. I now understand your username. When did I ever say anything about how to change sparkplugs? At least your aware of your problem. To close, I think I figured out why you guys are so bitter.. A long time ago I think a few of you were kicked off of supraforums for being the retarded half brother with 2 extra doors and an automatic gearbox... You now reside hear, and make fun of anyone who isnt cool enough to have a jz engine.
