I purchased JZX90 engine brackets because I didn't know what would come on my engine when I bought it. Well, low and behold, it came with JZX81 brackets. So through peoples experiences, knowledge, and opinions - What model brackets should I use? JZX81 or JZX90 because I have a pair of both now. Apparently the reversed JZX90 brackets line up an R154 directly in the center of the shifter hole? Is that the same case for non-flipped JZX81 brackets?

1JZ engine
MK3 Solid mounts (not that it matters)
Thanks everyone,

Haha the hard way, sweet. If that's what works. You happen to know how to get the bolt holding the oil filter housing to the block off? Hard pipes are blocking ratchets or extensions. Maybe wobble extensions/sockets?

oil filter thang comes off... if i remember correctly there is a nut or something in there......... but you're gonna need some low profile thin walled universal sockets to get through where the turbo is to get to the engine bracket bolts , no harbor freight shit for this... you need snap on or matco, mac or sk nice ass set of thin walled low pro universal sockets......mmmmkkkkkaayyyy. good luck , menstral cycle.

Not quite sure what your talking about. I can get to the engine brackets on the turbo side just fine. Thanks for the input. I saw the nut sitting underneath the actual oil filter but I didn't know if I should disturb it. I'll try to mess with that to see if I can get it off.

Haha. intake manifold is off I just need to introduce my tools to that nut I was going to leave to be in peace. For the sake of iwantthisfuckingthinginmycar, I'll stick with flipped x90's and solid mk3 mounts. I already have them in my hands.

That oil thing is easy to take off bro I don't have a socket for the damn thing so I used a crescent wrench.. yup I said it a damn proto crescent. Worked just fine course I did it while it was out but make sure you tighten that sucker up good when you go to put it back on oh and make sure the o-ring seal is in there good. I had to tighten mine down another fraction of a turn because it was leaking =/....

I'll try to hit it with a crescent wrench first. I'm betting that it is on pretty tight though so we'll see. I'll make sure to put it on tight when I put it back together, thanks.

lol I wasn't going to try very hard with a wrench for that reason. The strip yo shit wrench will fuck things up. I'll give it the ol college try and then disturb the nut hiding under the oil filter.

if you cant get a socket on there, go to harbor freight and buy a large box end wrench.
